The free kick would have made it 2-0 going into half time. The mindset, decisions, team talks and substitutions may have been different to what happened and there is no reason to think that the actual second would not have been scored to make it 3-0 .
As I can't get to games these days I tend to watch a lot of the YouTube footage and one thing I have noticed over the last two seasons is the confidence of the team. The goals are generally of better quality and well worked rather than lucky deflections or bad goalkeeping.
So much so, that in the Newport and Carlisle games I always felt that it just meant that we needed one more goal than if we hadn't conceded. Even being 2 down to the run away league leaders on their own pitch, I 'knew' that if we got one back with enough time left that an equaliser would come. Just look at the quality of Ellis's goal with the build up. Needing a goal with a few minutes to go, did we hoof it into the box?, no, we worked it down the left.
Incidentally, I heard Clem on Radio 5 before the game and he called it the match of the day in all three SkyBet divisions, citing Northampton needing a win to go up and us winning 7 out of the last 8. Boy, did that sound good.
This is a great adventure at the moment, I want to enjoy it while we can.

We had them on the run, they were blowing out of their ar£Es. Rejoice!

I would bet that every player (whether involved in Saturday's game or not) went into the next training session with a smile on their face and an extra yard of pace. The biggest problem will be for DC having to pick Saturdays team....
