I expected Roofe to win it tbh. He's not a striker so can't judge him just on goals and has got loads of assists as well.

MT 26 goals/5 assists & KR 17 goals/9 assists, not sure the stats support he's got loads of assists? As far as his cup goals surely it's FL Div 2 Player of the Year not FA Cup Player of the Year?

You have to remember that The voting was a few weeks ago before Mattee was on his run of scoring and also most of the people who vote have known Roofe for at least 2 seasons

Matty T also didn't make it into the FL team of the year, despite being the FL current top scorer!

thought roofe deserved it to be fair , he scored a few important goals for them in the cup Cup goals against a premier league side when live on national TV was always going to get him the award.

You have to remember that The voting was a few weeks ago before Mattee was on his run of scoring and also most of the people who vote have known Roofe for at least 2 seasons I never understand why they have end of season awards a month or two before the seaosn ends for that very reason. If MT now finishes with 30+ goals then not being in at least the team of year looks daft.

I also highly doubt those who choose the players really watch league two games every week. Roofe made the national press for his FA cup exploits and I believe that pretty much doubled his chances of winning the award.
