We won't always like what some have to say but that's forum life.

Just ignore threads or posters that don't appeal to you, and I would respectfully ask they do the same.

I can honestly say this is no where near as downbeat as the if. I popped over their the other day and it put my therapy back weeks. All the sharp things have had to go away again and I'm only allowed to write in crayon. I'm all right though, honest, every day in every way I'm getting better and better.......

Restrict KP & Dinsdale to 1 moan a day and all will be rosey again ;-)

Yup ban the people trying to cross the forum divide. By the way you are confusing moaning with not blowing smoke up the boards arse and the confidence to not follow the crowd or seek popularity with strangers.

Everyone on here who has personally met me knows what I'm about and that I'm just a passionate and average joe fan.

Happy to go elsewhere however.

The most frustrating thing for me is that we still talk about the IF as them an us. There are two forums (great - variety is the spice of life); use whichever one you please (or indeed both!).

I think the debate on the IF is more serious and over here things are more lighthearted. That doesn't make the IF or this one any better - it just makes them different.

Please can we all stop slating each other - we're all Gasheads. Those that want to use the IF; fantastic. Those that want to use this one; fantastic. Those that want to use both; fantastic. Those that want to use neither; losers.

Seriously though, as a MOD (and I'm sure my fellow MODs will agree) it can be frustrating with some posts that crop up on here slating the IF and as a result almost turning it in to a competition. Two main forums exist; they are different. Use whichever suits you - that is the sum of it.

To summarise:

It's not Gaschat VERSUS the IF

It's Gaschat AND the IF

Use each as you see fit - if you dislike one then fine - but there's no need to constantly slate one another. Lets not forget; we are all Gasheads.

Dins doesn't just moan. He always backs up his view with reasoned argument. There is a huge difference.

He is always respectful of other posters. (well mostly...) He never deliberately sets out to disrupt or derail threads.

He provokes debate and thought and is often informative.

Personally I find him an extremely valued poster.

It would be a shame, and something of a terrible irony if posters like him were driven away from here since its exactly the thing people here accuse the IF stallwarts of doing to them.

With respect to EVERY poster here, have a long think about what you want from a forum and how you'd like to be treated by your fellow Gasheads.

Stuff like this makes me question why I bother contributing any time and energy into making this place somewhere I'd like to come, because at times it really isn't.
