Again yesterday we were subjected to the Nick Days record collection. The songs he played were once again downbeat (I know some of you like sweet Caroline, but that just shows your age).
Here is my gripe, we need something to liven the crowd up, not depress us. Two songs yesterday (a) Prince, Purple Rain. Yes I know in homage to the man who died in the week, but why purple rain? Why no 1999? much more upbeat, and the bloody Proclaimers, if you HAVE to play them then play 500 miles, it has a beat!!
The players play upbeat music in the changing room to get themselves going and we should do it on the pitch too. No doubt our last game will be accompanied by the Smiths?
Why are we so backward looking?

We've the best home in league 2, if we need music to make us upbeat there's something seriously wrong with the fan base!

The pre-match build up is a bit predictable. Could we not convert one of the exec box balconies into a DJ booth and pump out some happy hardcore beats? I bet DJ Wael would be game for a mash up..

To my knowledge it isn't Nick who selects & plays the music. At this stage of the season I am not overly bothered anyway

I don't like Neil Diamonds music but I'm finding myself singing Sweet Caroline a lot. Why? Cos I'm excited about the position we are in after Saturday although the song has no bearing on our team it did help create a great atmosphere Last nights result was another lift with Cambridge now having something to play for against muff And if we do fall into the playoffs we are more likely to face the wombles. SWEET CAROLINE. LA. LA LA

Got to be on Boom Boom Boom by Outhere Brothers, obviously the clean version. WAEL
Maybe we should get a music request thread up and going.
Burn anything under 120 BPM.

I believe other football teams do this, I think someone use Twitter, give a selection of songs and the top 5 or whatever get played.
I the OP has a point though, I'm over the moon that we're where we are in the league, but surely we can have some music of the last 12 months at least?
Failing that, get some of the music on that gets other sports in the mood, eg what the crown chants at the darts, sweet caroline is ok as it's the boxing theme by the looks of things, Boom boom boom might actually work with Wael at the end! Just get some songs on that put a smile on the fans faces and get them going.
One other gripe was HT, I don't think Day can do the 50/50 draw, the shout outs, the season ticket comp and the Come on you Gas at Half Time, the ref mugged him right off on Saturday which seemed to make the atmosphere very flat at kick off (I'm blaming that for their goal...)

I worked with a Muslim guy, and one day I told him I had a copy of the Koran on CD. He thought that sounded cool, so I told him I'd burn a copy for him...............that's when the fighting started.

I think it's very unfair to pin this one on Nick.
He's an announcer not a DJ. I know on the old forum he was very accommodating to PoVs and feedback and would try to play suggestions.
Wembley plays a 'crock-of-sh**-with-a-beat' music and I can't stand it. Ruby-Ruby-Ruby-blah-haha.
They should just play good songs. Up beat or down beat. It's a football match not a wedding.
Also the Smiths rule.
