Can't go today, but hope we show some class towards their fans and no chants of their fate, hope if all goes okay today that we keep in perspective that nothing is decided today, remember Northampton in the first leg of the play offs and Wycombe a couple of years ago when all thought we had done the business, all to no avail.
Exciting times and gutted not there, up the Gas!

Maybe I've got no class then because I don't get on board with all of this 'let's not sing songs about them being down' business, it's football, they're one of our rivals and they are down, I would sing about it if I was there, had plenty of fans sing that to me in the past and not been upset by it, just think there are bigger things to get upset about than some people I don't know singing a song at me. |

We know exactly how it feels to go down so why waste breathe trying to rub it in to a club like York who we have no grief with. All energy should be concentrated on cheering on our boys and help them get the 3 points! |

I don't think it's a big deal - you'd think they'll have come to terms with their relegation by now. If the first they've heard about it is through rovers' chanting then they need to read their club's OS a little more!

We took it graciously when Mansfield fans started singing it in 2014 to be fair. There was no backlash whatsoever.
Sometimes I wonder if people actually did learn anything in the Conference.

It's quite simple to me. Relegation is a very sore subject for a true football club supporter, especially relegation to non-league. Its horrendous.
Personally I'm not sure why we'd want to rub it in to York City supporters. If it was Yeovil, Wycombe or the sh!t I could understand...
But either way, if you take the p!ss about something like that, you've got to be willing to accept the fact that the supporters on the receiving end, could react violently, and to take/respond in kind, to what's coming to you. If you aren't willing to take that, keep your mouth shut regarding their relegation because it's very serious and true supporters could potentially be very angry.

Bit irrelevant of us to sing about York going down but it happens.
Can't see how anyone can be offended, they'll probably more wondering what the relevance would be of us singing about them.
On a similar note it's a pet hate of mine seeing Rovers fans truly getting wound up and agitated at away games when the home crowd sing about us being 'city in disguise' or 'worse than city'. People reactions offend me more than the chants. It's banter, don't take it so seriously ffs.

UTG I'm a very serious and true supporter and have been for over 30 years, yes it fecking hurt getting relegated but a few mansfield fans singing that we were going down didn't make it any worse than it already was to me. It's football at the end of the day, fans sing songs to wind each other up, always have, always will. As for the poster asking did we learn nothing in the conference, yes I did, plenty thanks, but I wasn't one of the supporters who thought we were too big to be down there or that everybody should be thankful for us being there and bringing big crowds to them, so not sure what you're trying to say there. I'm not saying I would be starting of songs about them going down, but if it was being sung I would have no qualms about joining in. |

May 3rd 2014 was a horrendous day, am I bothered what other fans sign, not in the slightest, however I would much prefer to spend our energy getting behind our boys in blue rather than give and motivation to the opposition, just look how Lita responded to the abuse he was given

As we saw last year, the smaller clubs were incredibly accommodating to us when we went away. To be fair, the ones at York today probably have a right to sing what they like, massive effort today. But to wind up a small section of loyal Dagenham fans? Or Alfreton fans? Just focus on the Gas  |
