Why not go the full silly, and have division's of ten teams, with two seasons being played each year. That way, you could actually go up (or down) twice in one year !.....or divisions of eight teams, with four up, four down, so every season you either get promoted, or relegated !

I think the best way to go is to have 6 divisions of 12 based on geography and size and two supplementary intake divisions of 9 and 6. Each team plays twice against every team in their divisions plus three games against randomly generated teams from other divisions, three times a year, home and away, with four extra matches for secondary drawings twice a month. If you get a win you get 3 points, but you can choose to bet as many points as you've just won on winning the next game, or go each way for draw, except on Tuesdays, which is always double points nights after October. Before, it can be but only when both teams are top half. You can also play your joker twice per season, which is extra points for a win, but these can't be doubled, or bet on the next match except when we're in bonus play-off sections. All the teams are given three lives but they can lose a life for gambling a double point bonus on a Saturday, and they can buy extra lives for TV points. Every time your game is on TV you get five points to spend on super bonuses, or adding players to the bench. You can also get red card penalties reduced, but only at a cost of 10 TV points, and only if the incident was clearly seen on TV replays. Playoffs will go to the four teams in each division with the highest number of home wins plus the two teams who scored the most goals. These play off with teams from the other end of the country (north west will play south east, for example) where away goals count double for TV bonuses. If you qualify for a play off final, you shoot out at Wembley and you can nominate a captain to take two general knowledge questions, to get a yard closer to the goal for each correct answer, or you can gamble them for a two penalty bonus shots where the keeper is blindfolded, unless he can guess whether the washing machine costs more than the tumble dryer. Then at the end of the season, you get a blue box for every point, and you get to open a number of boxes equal to the run time bonus score of the referee's adjudicator and choose to gamble them for four red crosses, or a holiday whichever is bigger or smaller or the same.
Simples.
Obviously, not all the details are finalised, yet, but it still makes more sense than the FL's proposals.

I think it's best if we keep it as it is.

Nobby what about my idea for revamping the play-offs. They had that in rugby. The upshot is that the team that qualified for the final didn't have a game for three weeks, meaning that they were undercooked for the main game.
