He is a great asset and I could see him being our fitness coach longer term too. Lovely bloke, very popular Definitely agree with both of these statements, even if he's on the bench for the large majority of the season (which I don't think he will be) he's so upbeat and excited to be a pro and now a league 1 pro as well, and also so professional in terms of his approaAch and the way he trains and does all of the off field work that it would be crazy to get rid of him, he's exactly the type of character you want around the place imo. Agreed, and we haven't even mentioned the fact he's probably on peanuts yet!

Sinclair is worth his weight in gold just to have someone like him around the squad for younger players to look upto as a role model, his enthusiasm and professionalism is first class. As fanboy mentioned I doubt he's on much and I'm sure he will play a part for us next season in certain games. All in all I find this is a strange thread.

Sinclair has a lot of ability. Annoys me how he gets labelled as a workhorse.

Sinclair has been brilliant at times. Think Gateshead on TV last season when he grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and willed us to a massively important victory. Our best central midfield partnership is almost certainly Lines and Mansell, but Sinclair is the kind of player you just don't underestimate. he has a drive to improve himself and he has undoubtedly got better whilst with us.

Hopefully it was at least doubled.

I can understand both sides of the argument BUT I would definitely not want to sit on the fence on this one.
Most of us have been singing "we've got our rovers back" and every single one of us means it when we do. For me, the one single player around which that sentiment evolved in the early days was SS. HE NEVER GAVE UP ON ANYTHING and, I think, became the Spirit of Rovers which gradually infected the entire squad.
You can argue all you like about his technical abilities as a footballer (I happen to think he is under-rated) BUT I think that his contribution to the club is far greater than that. He, more than most, has deserved the right to try to prove himself in League 1.
The case for the defense rests M'Lud

He wouldn't be in my first XI for next season, but he's a valuable squad player and a unique weapon to bring into games off the bench IMO.
Motivational to everyone (other players and fans) with his workrate, cheap, versatile, seems to love playing for us.
See no reason to bin him out, personally.

If he's happy being a squad player, I don't see why he shouldn't be given a chance like everyone else. He's obviously good for team spirit, probably doesn't have high wages, and it's not like he's our worst player at the end of the day.

He's Dam brilliant!
We need to keep him, absolute hero. That can play full back and wide. I'd have a whole team of Sincs.

This thread should be deleted-utterly disgraceful. Leicester just won premier with players no one wanted. Heart is better than lazy head.

I know he is a "fans favourite" but for me I think we play better when he is not in the team, and judging by the results we had after his injury I think I am right. I think we are more balanced without him. Whoever he plays with has to cover for him when he goes forward and if that is Lines then he then cannot go forward Everyone loves a trier, and he is that, but I don't think he has the "vision" to play as an attacking midfielder and I think he goes to ground too often when tackling, sometimes missing and having the opposition skip round him. And for the last 2 seasons he has had long term injuries We will be up against a lot of better players next season and it could be a problem. I like him as a person and I think he is keen and eager to do well, but is that enough? I also think Puddy and Lawrence will struggle next season, especially Puddy after his long term injury problem. Good keeper at Div 2and National League, but at Division One? Lawrence failed to make much of an impact with Shrewsbury in Division One and I cannot think how he will do that well for us, unless of course he joins the coaching staff. any midfield player that makes a forward run needs his mate to cover for him, like lines who makes surging forward runs or anyone,do you not want to see our midfield players making forward runs? i dont buy into this myth that sinclair is headless, chasing all over the pitch without discipline, ive watched him for 2 seasons and he knows how to hold position when instructed and quite often played with mansell in central midfield with both players playing defensively. on the "vision" comment not everyone can be a paul scholes,he wins the ball and makes a simple pass like drinkwater or fernandinho at the higher levels. nobody knows how well our players will adapt to the higher level but stu very much deserves a shot at it imo

Sincs is our Rolls Royce Merlin engine on steroids......Fear The Beard....UTG This! He'll run his heart out for us next season, as always, then when we're promoted (which we will for sure), some might say he's not good enough for the Championship. People used to talk about Kevin Keegan saying he wasn't a 'natural', but was European player of the year and was the worlds most expensive transfer. Fear the Beard. UTG!

He embodies what it is to be a Bristol Rovers player. His attitude is infectious, you only had to listen to 20 pence show after promotion. The others even joked how he would still be the fittest player at pre season even though he will have missed a year of football.
The day we replace a Stuart Sinclair with another Liam Lawrence will be the day we start our decline back to the basement.
End of season and continued success does funny things to people's way of thinking.

Sinclair IMO in div 1, will be a squad player, coming off the bench at best. Puddy not good enough and Lawrence has come to us at the wrong end of his career and looks awful particularly when rovers are out of possession.
