Every time I see this thread reappear I hope some positive news will be added but know deep down I'm just being foolish.
How hard is it to give the fans a simple update - even a vague half hearted 'we doubt there'll be anything to report for another few months'. Something, anything...

Won't find a better site than the uwe site and it will take five years, by which time everyone will be bored of it. Maybe we should find somewhere close to Taylor's grave to build the stadium, as a tribute to him. I don't believe the site you propose has the necessary transport links!

You reckon end of August but you didn't say what year

I tend to agree that there will be good news in the nearish future, although not necessarily by the end of August, although that would be great.
The reason I say this is as a result of listening to Having a Gas on coach up on Friday. The first half was dedicated to the Chelsea game, and they had Gary Lee on the show reminiscing about his time there. Personally I will be glad when that game is over. I think it's becoming a bit of a distraction, and apart from the money it will generate I think it's something we could do without . (Tin hat on)
In the second half of the show they had Rovers new physio on. We all know the role is much more involved than running on with a bucket of water and a sponge, but what became apparent was how amateurish we were before the take-over. This is not a criticism of Phil Kite, who I think was brilliant, but this new man has taken things to a whole new level. He was a specialist in the field at UWE, and was approached by the club. They asked his opinion, and the upshot was that he was engaged together with the team he wanted. Listen to the piece, it won't be cheap, qbut it shows how seriously the new owners are taking the whole process of owning and running a club. There is a lot of questioning of the Al Quadis because they aren't. Funding expensive transfers of household names, but they sure are quietly taking the club to a whole new level of professionalismq
During the interview the new man described how the job was sold to him. He unequivably said that a new training ground and stadium were on the way. Why would he be told that unless it was true? Also, he would have been briefed before the interview, and I'm sure if there were any doubts he would have been told not to mention the new facilities.
So there you are, I'm quietly confident it's all going to happen.
UTG,

I wish I could share the belief that some have , but the stadium project seems to have gone cold and seems to be on the back burner.

UTG, Had this on during my drive home on Thursday and it sounded as if we are trying some new stuff which has been used in other sports. Sounds impressive - the guy wasn't interests at first but dropped a chance to go to the Paralympics with a one of the team Gb wheelchair groups but dropped out as what were doing is too big of an opportunity.

It'd be cool if the fans could be told a snippet of what the new physio apparently was..

I seem to remember during either a player interview or a DC one some time back ,mentioning how the players were getting excellent treatment these days with staff for physiology and massage etc which implied a team or department.

Apparently we have a team in place which includes a Wembley chappie and other experts. We have a proven chairman. We have one of those wealthy foreign businessmen.
What we don't have is any info/news/proof that anything whatsoever is being done to move us closer to the single most important aspect of our progression. We love to hypothesize about plan Bs and speculate but if these new guys could back up the initial impression with some substance, it would be much appreciated.
Other than the team holding their own after a few games I have Jeff all to get my juices flowing.

I guess until the club can announce an agreement has been reached then apart from telling us talks are still ongoing, which you must assume they are, there's little further they can actually say?
It could be proceeding with a new training ground is also linked to agreeing a deal with the UWE, as it would be foolish to spend millions on a training ground before we agreed a deal on the new stadium. Particularly if selling the Mem is going to fund a new training ground.
