Hi all I run the Scunthorpe United site & forum Iron Bru and was hoping I could find a couple of fans who can answer four or five questions ahead of your trip to our spot in a few weeks. If anybody fancies it, please let me know. Thanks in advance & good luck for the season. Matt

Here are the questions for the rest of you guys that maybe didn't spot my private message. Thank you in advance. Hoping to run this on Wednesday if poss.
1. You managed to sneak into the automatic promotion spots on the last day of the season. Did you anticipate such a good season following beating Grimsby in the Conference play off final the year before?
2. Realistically, how will you do this time around?
3. You managed to secure Matty Taylor despite interest from Oxford. How important was it to keep hold of him and how do you think he will do in League One?
4. Who else should we watch out for in the Bristol side?
5. Any weak links we could exploit?
6. What was the best moment of last season?
7. What was the worst moment of last season?
8. Predict the top 6 and bottom 4 of League One this season
9. Where will the game be won or lost?

Predict the top 6 and bottom 4 of League One this season 9. Where will the game be won or lost? 1. We timed our run to perfection, getting our poor home form out of the way early on in the season. No one on the squad wanted to be up there to be shot at for any number of games coz we are the hunters not the hunted. DC decided that two minutes in the playoff zone at the end of the season was just about right. Actually, this was a decent mirror to our relegation season when we were in the relegation zone for only the last 70 odd minutes of the season. I think most people would have been happy with playoffs just to show that we were capable of promotion at some point soon, but we were all very sick of bottom half of league 2 football. No one at the club really thinks league 2 is our proper level. 2. Top half, going on a classic Darrell Clarke late run we might even sneak the playoffs. 3. He will rip it up like a monkey reading yesterday's Times. 4. Bodin. This time next year Bodin will be a millionaire. Also, don't call us Bristol. 5. Try lumping it forward onto Tom Lockyer's (CB) head and waiting for him to make a mistake. 6. Obviously: Apart from the obvious: 7. Listening to the bloke behind me. 8. No. 9. We never start quickly, especially under Darrell Clarke so I fancy you, anyway. No idea how you will win it, though. Flukey defensive error, probably.

1. You managed to sneak into the automatic promotion spots on the last day of the season. Did you anticipate such a good season following beating Grimsby in the Conference play off final the year before?
No, although DC did say he set the players a target of top 7 and so I should have expected it. I would have been happy just staying up, so expectations were far exceeded for me.
2. Realistically, how will you do this time around?
The same as I said going into last season, as long as we stay up I'm not too fussed. In the past two seasons we've had very slow starts and still managed to get promoted. If we get off to a good start, I see no reason why we can't finish top 6. DC also likes to set the bar high, and if the players don't match his expectations of them, they'll be out the door. But staying up will do for me.
3. You managed to secure Matty Taylor despite interest from Oxford. How important was it to keep hold of him and how do you think he will do in League One?
For me the key thing would have been keeping him from going to a championship club, and I have no doubt a few would have sniffed around. Obviously, fans of other clubs don't watch Taylor every week, but IMO, finishing is one of his weaker traits and even if he's not scoring he'll still be a key player. If he starts the season well he'll get 20+ again, when it comes to scoring he seems to be a confidence player and if he has none he can go a few weeks dry, but when he does score he then tends to go on a streak of games with goals.
4. Who else should we watch out for in the Bristol side?
We really have a squad rather than stand out players. The team we have is pretty much the team we had in the conference, and each year we just add a few key signings to them. IMO there are a lot of players in our side who could be considered average, but because the team works as a unit they do so well. I'd go with Bodin/Sinclair.
5. Any weak links we could exploit?
Pass the ball to Taylor because he can't score.
6. What was the best moment of last season?
92nd minute goal to go up. I wasn't there but it still beat the feeling of Wembley by miles.
7. What was the worst moment of last season?
I'd say losing 4-1 to Newport. We haven't really lost that big under DC and it came as a bit of a shock as everyone expected a routine win. Losing to Chesham was bad too, but considering we lost against Bath the season before too, I don't really feel we took cups too seriously and just wanted out.
8. Predict the top 6 and bottom 4 of League One this season Milllwall Charlton
Bradford Sheffield United Coventry Peterborough (Heart says Rovers)
No order Shrewsbury Port Vale Northampton Chesterfield
9. Where will the game be won or lost?
It will come down to fitness IMO. We have a very fit squad who are still giving the same effort in the 90th minute as they did in the first. Can see a late Rovers winner.

Top scorer across all four division, huge pyschological boost and he will score goals though probably not as many. 4. Never refer to us as "Bristol" that is an insult that almost associates us with the scum across the city. Take your pick from one of many: Bodin,Gaffney,Lines Leadbiter or Hartley nobody goes past him without a bruise or two 5. Strongest starting eleven at this level None 6. Promotion last kick of the game 7. Losing at home to Accrington Stanley, we were woeful and didn't understand quite how good Accrington were 8. Charlton,Bradford,MKDons,Coventry,Bolton,Millwall Shrewsbury,Rochdale,Port Vale, Oxford. 9. Glanford Park

1. You managed to sneak into the automatic promotion spots on the last day of the season. Did you anticipate such a good season following beating Grimsby in the Conference play off final the year before? Just as we snuck into the relegation spot in 2013-14 on the last day of that season, it brought about a collective battling spirit in the club. Last season we won a significant number of games in the last 10-20 minutes, which epitomises the never say die attitude that has emerged. Apart from Northampton, it seemed clear from the new year on that Plymouth and even Oxford were faltering and earlier challengers like Portsmouth and Leyton Orient were falling away. Rovers second half of the season was exceptional and it was clear that we had the momentum to challenge. 2. Realistically, how will you do this time around? I don't think we'll struggle, but can't believe that we'll challenge for a 3rd promotion on the bounce. Top half, with an outside chance of the play-offs. 3. You managed to secure Matty Taylor despite interest from Oxford. How important was it to keep hold of him and how do you think he will do in League One? Very important IMO. He is still improving as a player and is always likely to score plenty. If we had lost him, to Oxford or one of the other suitors, he would take a significant fee to replace. 4. Who else should we watch out for in the Bristol side? Mike Rafter, Dave Rollitt, Ralph Knibbs, Gavin Henson - I don't know. We're Bristol Rovers. 5. Any weak links we could exploit? There's a small gap in the fence that a seven stoner can get in through at the away terrace at the Mem. Otherwise, No 6. What was the best moment of last season? Lee Brown's 92nd minute winner. 7. What was the worst moment of last season? Possibly the 0-0 at Stevenage. Poor game and suggested that play offs would be the limit of our achievement - thankfully not. 8. Predict the top 6 and bottom 4 of League One this season Barnsley MK Dons Millwall Bradford Coventry Sheff U Oxford Utd AFC Wimbledon Chesterfield Shrewsbury 9. Where will the game be won or lost? On the playing fields of Eton

The reason we just sneaked into the automatics is the same reason you just missed out on the playoffs. LEE NICHOLS. He played 15 games on loan last season and cost us points. He also played in Wigans last game where they were thrashed by Barnsley to deny you. Looking at the hi-lights I reckon he was at fault for two of the goals. I hope he's not playing Saturday.
