If he does sign hopefully my Plymouth supporting mate is wrong. He said he wasn't impressed with him and that his acceleration was shocking. That players would just run past him. He said this before the end of the season, while he was still with them. So it wasn't sour grapes. All fans have different opinions though, so if we do sign him, hopefully he was wrong. 30+ pages on PASOTI mostly devoted to how he improved their team and they slumped when he was injured. I think your Plymouth mate may be telling porkies, or is certainly in the minority. Must be muff's version of tbone

Must be muff's version of tbone Hopefully his opinion is wrong, if he signs for us. He had no reason to lie though, it was with a few games left last season when he said it. So it's not like he said it as we were linked with him.

Hiram is a very decent player, I followed him closely when he was at Plymouth. Him and/or Sullay Kaikai Wiki would be good additions imo

We lack goals from central midfield and his record while on loan at Shrewsbury in L1 was impressive.

Missed out on another goalscoring midfielder. Adam King a 20 year old Scottish under18/19/ 21 international who joined the Swans from Hearts in 2014 has just signed a new three year deal at the Liberty has joined Southend on loan for the season. He spent five months on loan at Crewe last season and scored four goals in his first ten games. Phil Brown at Southend says he will definitely improve them "a goal scoring midfielder who gets stuck in" and brings something different to the midfield.

Aren't we starting to do this over analysis of players a bit too much? If DC thinks it's what we need surely that's good enough?

Aren't we starting to do this over analysis of players a bit too much? If DC thinks it's what we need surely that's good enough? This. I remember the thread when we were relegated to the conference and we had several scouts on here saying we should have signed this or that potential non league player with all the ratings to accompany it. I also remember the questioning of the actual signings. When Mansell signed it was, good signing, but it was underwhelming and would have preferred this or that player. When Sinclair signed, DC was only signing another one of his mates, Monkhouse was too old, Taylor hadnt scored enough, I could go on, and yet all his signings turned out to be exactly what we needed and were actually mustard. Even Nathan "that step over for Lines to score" Blisset will always have a small place in Rovers folklore. We have a good core of players in our squad and we Have momentum and in reality we won't know what we actually need until the seasons underway. Let's trust DC with everything. He's done us proud so far.

everytime somebody signs a player, someone says "we missed out on him" jesus!!! If we don't sign a player, is it because we don't want him, don't want to be held to ransom by his agent/club, it's a journalist rumour or proof that the new owners haven't got the money we thought they have?

DC and his staff work with the squad day in day out, they clearly have confidence in the players and believe some have the capability to step up, equally they will know the areas they want to strength or provide additional cover/confidence I have every faith and confidence in them and and happy to trust their judgement, they have earnt that

I've not detected anything in what DC has said about signings to suggest he's been hampered by lack of funds. I think DC wants to give the current squad every chance to prove themselves at this level. Reckon he'll reassess after the first 2 or 3 games to see who is up to it and who isn't. Players at this level are often much of a muchness ability-wise so not losing any sleep over a few being snapped up already.

I love this, we need to pay a fee. DC knows what he's doing so let's just see how the next 3 weeks pan out.
Also do you think DC or Matty would be here if they did not think owners had the potential to grow the club. Just keeping them shows the owners put there money where their mouth is. #evolution not revolution

I completely agree, all of the new contracts we offered players at the end of last season would've been better than the player's previous ones. Together with the stadium, improvements and backroom appointments shows a major investment by the new owners already.

People forget that even when the club have bought players in the past its not come from a gift from a director its either been out of the budget or a loan from a director or an exchange for more shares. The fans have given away money for no return before but even they wised up to the fact money should be exchanged for something (share scheme) . After all why should working class people gift money when millionaires get to invest.......

Offset the increases in contracts etc against the remarkable increase in season ticket sales and I doubt there's been any real investment but at least money is, seemingly, being reinvested not taken just out of the club.
