Bugger. Hopefully 25 days is enough to bring to bring in a League One standard Goalkeeper, Central Defender and a Centre Midfielder. Our keeper never had a chance with any of the goals apparently. |

Did you miss we'd signed Hartley? No, I just think if we play with 3 CB's we need another, not necessarily first choice but just as back up/competition for places. |

I'm not saying he did, it takes our 38 year old keeper a while to shake to cobwebs off and a new keeper has been required regardless. |

3 of the promoted teams went ahead and all 3 let it slip (admittedly we were the only ones to lose, but were also the only one of those 3 playing away). Dons were never really in their game. At least we were with ours.
Small margins maybe? Ellis was getting ready to come on when they equalised.
shows that this is a tough league maybe, and teams have more resilience and better stamina / fitness / mental strength than Lge 2?

Wasn't at the game so I won't comment too much , just gutted we lost , still we are notoriously slow starters so I won't be worrying just yet ! UTG !

I thought we'd lose today but with two home games coming up we've got a good chance of being top half after 3 games I reckon we got to get behind them Saturday cheer em on to 3 pts

Disappointing result given the build up and that we matched Scunthorpe in the first half. We will need to defend better at set plays and when being counter attacked. We also need to make better decisions to create more opportunities at the other end in the next games.
It's only the first game away to a decent side in this division so dust ourselves down and onto the next game now.

Better score than I predicted !.....just.
I think DC may reflect on the fact Scunthorpe were bound to make changes to their play at half time due to losing. Perhaps it might have been better to have changed formation at half time....to negate their half time team talk. ?
DC would have learned plenty....a lot of corners given away.

Interested to know how many of the people who are screaming for signings were at the game? We more than matched them for a long time and we're done by two sucker punches that no keeper would have stopped and the third was down to us pushing forward and getting done on the counter.
The ref was an absolute clown as well. He was so inconsistent. Let them get away with things that he gave against us.
I'm certainly not concerned after that performance.

FFS we badly need to see some signings come in. Do we, or just like the last 2 seasons just need to find our feet in an higher division? 1 new player in the team from last year we need 3 if we want to be comfortable. last year we had the loan window as a back up so this year we really need to get the squad right. |

People need to chill out .
Scunthorpe away is one of the toughest games we'll play this season and is sounds as if we did OK for most of the game.
I'm willing to wait until we're at least 2-3 games in before I decide whether and where we need strengthen.
I'd imagine that's how our manager sees it too.
UTG. And ffs be patient , anyone remember Northampton at home a year ago ?

Definitely no need for all the panicking. Remember when we lost to tinpot teams like Braintree and still got promoted. I'll worry if we're struggling after 10 games, not right now.

We've been done by two absolute screamers from a team that were there or thereabouts last season. The reason I said I was interested if people were there was because it was said we needed a new GK and CB. I'd love to see a keeper that could have kept any of their goals out. Still, nice rant though. |
