People need to chill out . Scunthorpe away is one of the toughest games we'll play this season and is sounds as if we did OK for most of the game. I'm willing to wait until we're at least 2-3 games in before I decide whether and where we need strengthen. I'd imagine that's how our manager sees it too. UTG. And ffs be patient , anyone remember Northampton at home a year ago ? 2-3 games?! Then "be patient"?!

Forum is the same as ever and you're not allowed to have an opinion until everything has gone wrong. Still a few posters seem to have the same opinion as DC in that we need to sign 2-3 new players which seems sensible to. Of course in DC we trust but of course those posters agreeing with him are talking bollocks

Yeah if we've got no points after 3 games then we probably need strengthening and we can , if we've got 4-6 points then we go with what we've got for now is what idimagine DC is thinking and add to it in January to really push on. Just because we've lost today it doesn't mean we can't compete in this division with that we've got. If we lose to Oxford and Bolton then yeah that's probably a sign that that what we've got ain't good enough for league 1 and we bring people in before deadline .

Definitely no need for all the panicking. Remember when we lost to tinpot teams like Braintree and still got promoted. I'll worry if we're struggling after 10 games, not right now. Trouble is when we were losing to the 'tinpot' teams it was with virtually the same team we have now, and we ain't playing 'tinpot' teams no more. We won promotion against your so called Tin pot teams and we won promotion against 4th division Rubbish with a so called team that wasn't ready for league football because we struggled in some games against Tin pot Rubbish. And now we go again and strengthen again where needed. Chill out.

What difference does it make if you were at the game or not? Yes we all know you were at the game, you told us enough times. People have been saying for weeks we need new signings, and today proved that. If you're not concerned after a 3-1 defeat then so be it. I wasn't at the game, but I know we need at least 3 new signings. And how the hell can you know we need 3 signings if you didn't see the game? You some kind of Mystic Meg or something? Our manager has publicly stated that he thinks we need 2-3 new signings. Thats good enough for me to agree. I didn't see the game.

Thats good enough for me to agree. I didn't see the game. Neither did I and if our manager can see what we Can see then that's always a good thing. There isn't a manager alive that's happy with what they've got and doesn't think they could improve their squad. You've never got the best team you can always improve.

Wouldn't be a successful season without a Gaschat meltdown 90 minutes into it, so I'm quite optimistic now.

Interested to know how many of the people who are screaming for signings were at the game? We more than matched them for a long time and we're done by two sucker punches that no keeper would have stopped and the third was down to us pushing forward and getting done on the counter. The ref was an absolute clown as well. He was so inconsistent. Let them get away with things that he gave against us. I'm certainly not concerned after that performance. What difference does it make if you were at the game or not? Yes we all know you were at the game, you told us enough times. Whether someone was at the match or not the fact is we lost by 2 clear goals and we all know its the result that counts. I agree with someone on here earlier that said this would be one of the harder games we will have this season, it probably will be, but it doesn't stop us being disappointed, having our say or discussing how we can improve. What is disappointing on this forum is certain people following and sniping at every post for having an opinion. We all want the same thing and have different views on how to get it, thats life.

I was at the game and we need 3 signings. I was shot down couple weeks for suggesting we might need a cm after watching 2 years and this seasons friendlies but today showed that we did, Lines is our only player capable of playing every week right now, without him we would be in serious trouble. Other than a cm we need a goalkeeper and another striker. Im going to say proven striker and this again is a case where along with a cm we might have to spend some money to strengthen. youve worked all this out after one difficult away game??

Pretty sure I said after 2 years and friendlies 2, the squad hasn't changed and following the Gas I have made my opinion that some additional players are needed to compete in league and still believe that after today's game... am I wrong thinking that?

Start a new thread then just for reports from people who went to the game, i'm sure many will appreciate it. People will give their opinions whether they went or not. Its only 1 defeat but its still a defeat, and who likes losing eh!?

No you are only as good as your last game, therefore you needed to have been to the game today to fully assess the position of current players

Even Lines wasn't considered good enough for Port Vale in this division, not to mention he was the only midfielder who failed to score in an entire season in the league below during the last campaign. Definitely need at least one additional Centre Midfielder imo; think we're stocked for strikers however.

Can any team genuinely compete in this league without spending a penny?

Can any team genuinely compete in this league without spending a penny? How much did Burton spend last year? Probably very little.

Can any team genuinely compete in this league without spending a penny? Did Burton do it last season, plus Walsall are not normally big spenders? Although how do you classify "spending" as I assume MT either got a decent signing on fee or a very good contract, or he'd have signed for Oxford? But apart from Sheff Utd & Charlton have any Div 2 spent big money on transfers this summer?
