personally I think , and thought before the start, that the first 6 games will be a mixed bag.
Some of these players haven't been at this level for a while, some havent been here at all. Last season we got absolutely mugged first game of the season but did fantastic. We may be a few players short and are definitely a better team with manse / lines double act but with the current manager and board I am convinced all will be ok. Taylor scoring is important, several players haven't really had a full pre season ( centre halves) but FFS remember how far we have come and enjoy the season!

If we have a mini-meltdown after game 1, before we know anything about DC's plans for new signings or any idea about the budget he might have to get those players, how are we going to cope with pretending to be happy with a solid mid-table finish where we will lose as many as we win?

Don't know why people keep rattling on about us spending money on mt,yes he's a good player but we struggled v the better teams last season and all the teams are better this season that's what's worrying me I know it's being harsh after one game but we need more quality right across the midfield, would be a nightmare if we were fighting to stay up all season after all the effort it took to get here Cheque book time wael no good having a 20k stadium in l2

Can any team genuinely compete in this league without spending a penny? Did Burton do it last season, plus Walsall are not normally big spenders? Although how do you classify "spending" as I assume MT either got a decent signing on fee or a very good contract, or he'd have signed for Oxford? But apart from Sheff Utd & Charlton have any Div 2 spent big money on transfers this summer? Burton bucked the trend. I don't mean big money, just some transfer fees to tempt clubs to sell good players. Honestly thought that would be our stance with a wealthy owner and record number of seas ticks sold. Window not shut yet so there is hope.

Whether someone was at the match or not the fact is we lost by 2 clear goals and we all know its the result that counts. I agree with someone on here earlier that said this would be one of the harder games we will have this season, it probably will be, but it doesn't stop us being disappointed, having our say or discussing how we can improve. What is disappointing on this forum is certain people following and sniping at every post for having an opinion. We all want the same thing and have different views on how to get it, thats life. i dont think its a crime to post if you didnt go but its nice for me to get mini reports or opinions based on what people at the game  saw live instead of people who didnt go just repeating there already stated views again because of 1 defeat. So we should have 2 match day threads, one for those who go and one for those who to don't go? And the mods should ban anyone posting on the wrong threaf

What difference does it make if you were at the game or not? Yes we all know you were at the game, you told us enough times. People have been saying for weeks we need new signings, and today proved that. If you're not concerned after a 3-1 defeat then so be it. I wasn't at the game, but I know we need at least 3 new signings. And how the hell can you know we need 3 signings if you didn't see the game? You some kind of Mystic Meg or something? The usual post match knee jerk reaction we all tend to get at times. DC clearly stated the other day he wants to sign 3 or 4 players before the window closes. So there is no need to throw demands of new signings about...he already knew and will aim to get the right players in no doubt. Hissy fits over nothing really.....although BRFC have a tough set of fixtures till the end of September ! So be prepared for a bumpy ride for a while. The first person to say DC is out of his depth is a twat and should resign from being a BRFC supporter :-D

Forum is the same as ever and you're not allowed to have an opinion until everything has gone wrong. Still a few posters seem to have the same opinion as DC in that we need to sign 2-3 new players which seems sensible to. Of course in DC we trust but of course those posters agreeing with him are talking bollocks No, the forum is the same as ever, lose a game and we're relegation material, win a game and we're promotion certainties, thought somebody with you undoubtable intelligence could work that out for yourself. Don't remember saying we're relegation material or promotion certainties, I've just agreed with DC that we need 2 or 3 more players. Still you're more intelligent than I gave you credit for, I didn't think you'd realise you were one of the simpletons

I was at the game and we need 3 signings. I was shot down couple weeks for suggesting we might need a cm after watching 2 years and this seasons friendlies but today showed that we did, Lines is our only player capable of playing every week right now, without him we would be in serious trouble. Other than a cm we need a goalkeeper and another striker. Im going to say proven striker and this again is a case where along with a cm we might have to spend some money to strengthen. I agree re CM. I though Clarke would get sent off after such high and early booking and I'm not convinced he's up to L1 standard. Also not sure about Sinclair. He wins tackles but you need more than that at this level. I disagree, as DC was saying it's good when players have played together for a while they get a good understanding and can compensate and enhance each other's game. Only exceptional players are good at all aspects of the game especially at league one level that's why it's about work ethic and getting complementary blends of players...as DC has done the last two seasons. Charlton and Sheffield united both lost today are we writing them off already ? Or are we looking at their results with more level heads ?

Money does not equal success in football it helps but it guarantees nothing.

Some of you lot Crack me up. Darrell Clarkes a Dam legend and premature toss offs on here are writing this team off after one game. Those people don't deserve to be called supporters. We were sh** this time last season v Northampton. Supporting is getting behind your club through thick and thin and DC has turned this club around pretty much single handed , he's done that in the face of adversity time and time again and on a shoe string budget. Some of you need to wind your necks in and take a Dam check up from the neck up. This time 2 years ago we were a club in free fall and Clarke has taken it by the bollocks swang it around, spent very little and turned it into a winning club that's won double promotions and kept all our best players and gradually added more quality to it. Today was always going to be a very tough first game, and anyone who demanded we won or "we're just not good enough " needs to have a serious Dam word with themselves. Sometimes it feels like I might as well go and watch those fickle plastic sister shaggers south of the river because I might as well be reading some of this crap.

I loved supporting that and I love supporting us now.

I completely accept evolution not revolution but to evolve you need to buy some better players??

You also said today's goalscorer was dead. He's only here cos no one else wanted him! Prove it kid. We pretty much know for a fact that Oxford wanted him for a start.
