Give the bloke a chance. I can't believe some people are moaning about him without even seeing him play for us (well actually I can because it's the same people every time).
He is an experienced player at every level and when on-form he is a good winger. Clearly he found it difficult at Luton but on occasions some players just don't settle and find their best form; it doesn't mean he won't here. We needed a wide man who can deliver a ball and create real chances for the likes of Taylor, Brunt and White and we may just have found our man.
I'm really not sure what type of players people genuinely believed we'd sign. It's not necessarily about doing things on the cheap but who we can attract to the club. Get in the real world guys.

I said I'd give the bloke a chance. It wasn't a dig at him, it was a dig at the board. Unfortunately, it looks like we really have lowered our expectations and letting the board get away with murder. I just feel like they are taking the water out of us.

Just had a quick gander at a Dave Martin thread on Crystal Palace's forum.
"I thought he was decent, certainly better than the likes of Jeff Huges who is somehow still playing the game professionally."
"A decent League one, maybe championship player. He'll do alright at Luton, good luck to the lad."
From Millwall forum
"Back at Dartford on loan, shame his talent didn't match his ego."

Not a glamour signing but its at least a signing. Hopefully this will work out for us. Different team, different partnerships, different ways of playing, sometimes a player looks all the better for the move...sometimes it goes the other way. You never know. How many times have we seen a player leave who has not done well but picks up elsewhere? Sometimes the chemistry just isn't right

The sooner some on here realise we are a NON LEAGUE TEAM the better. Good luck to the lad I say, never seen him play myself so I for one will not pre judge him.

Give the lad a chance FFS.
Some people already writing him off before he has kicked a ball.
He cannot be any worse than we already have at LW as we currently have no one.
Welcome to the Gas Dave Martin best of luck. I think you'll bloody well need it.

Luton Town: Dave Martin sent on loan to Bristol Rovers until JanuaryBy Luton On Sunday | Posted: August 15, 2014 Luton Town winger Dave Martin has been loaned to Conference side Bristol Rovers until January. The 29-year-old has not been given a squad number by the Hatters this season - suggesting that his future lay away from Kenilworth Road.Rovers manager Darrell Clarke told the Gas' club website: “I have been chasing a winger for a couple of weeks, I wanted someone quick and direct who gets at the full backs. “He is an out and out winger, and somebody I have been desperate to add to the squad. I am delighted that I have got him. ”He has been at a big football club in Luton, but he has been getting a bit frustrated there, as they have a massive squad at the minute. “He wants to come here and get some games under his belt, but maybe looking to the future as well. “He chips in with a few goals, he is very quick and direct and has good delivery, so he is just what we needed. “He has played in the Championship, League One and League Two, and he knows the Conference very well. He is still very hungry and cannot wait to get started.” Rovers went in the opposite direction as Luton last season - dropping into the Conference after relegation on the final day as the Hatters came up as champions. Not sure what you can base that on - plus of course there is no evidence that Broghammer even wanted to stay with us .....

To be honest if he didn't have a squad number he didn't really need replacing did he. Strange that Luton already supposedly have a large squad and they're adding to it.

Before he was deemed not good enough and couldn't get in the team hence being shipped to Dartford.

Not sure what you can base that on - plus of course there is no evidence that Broghammer even wanted to stay with us ..... I base it on my opinion. The fact he would have been our player, not a loan, and that at this level he would have been a good player. I seem to remember that he was gutted he didn't get a new contract here when released so sure he would have liked to have stayed. Instead we have a player who has been dropping down the leagues quicker than us. I thought DC wanted players on the up, not the way down. Good luck to this lad though. Hope he provides what we have so far been missing.
