Fully deserved win. We had the better chances. Decent game. Taylor's goal was a gift though.

Obviously the table hasn't shaped up yet but I think Oxford will struggle playing like that. Montano and J.Clarke head-to-head for MOTM, although Matty T was brilliant while he was on.

I thought we were outstanding. It's like we have just continuted from our last two seasons. We have quality in our side and I truely believe we can challenge for our third promotion in a row.
Not always his biggest fan but Ollie Clarke has been outstanding today and against Cardiff

Rovers: Deserved the win, a couple of errors but considering they had two extra days rest than us we were very good. Bodin was disappointing. Lines and J Clarke were fantastic.
Oxford: Good noise from Oxford. Cummings looks like a good player. Poor defensively in possession but well organised. They need better fullbacks and the partner to Nelson was a donkey. Talented midfielders were by passed by the hoof-ball.
Ref: Inconsistent and possibly should have sent Appleton off as he went straight to him at half time. Wouldn't have liked it but I didn't think that was allowed under the new rules?

Should of won by 4 of 5, Oxford looked very poor bar that striker called hemmings. James Clarke or Chris Lines for mom. We missed a couple of sitters and dominated play. Good attendance but not much of an atmosphere,be interesting to see if we can keep up with this level of support in the next few games.

A lot of moaning before kick off about the team, soon forgotten when we started playing, deserved three points but closer than it should have been, thought Easter was good first half. Only Bodin and Gaffs not at their best.

Thought that was Montanos best game for Rovers, Easter also had a good game. Thought the ref was poor for both sides, blew up for any contact, even though its a contact game.

Only had a chance now to look back on this thread. Some of the comments made when the lineup was announced are unbelievable, some people really need to have a word with themselves. MT didnt have much of a pre-season so no surprise he needed a breather after 120 minutes the other night. We need ALL the squad at this level too so let's trust DC to know when's best to rotate. I was confident Easter could rise to the occasion and ensure MT was good for Bolton, a much tougher proposition, on Wednesday.

The chap next to me said that after Taylor scored he kissed his badge ? Anyone know if he did do this or not as I didn't see it ?

Some people on here are better managers than DC in their head, which is clearly shown by DC actually being a successful manager and them bashing a few keys on a keyboard.

I thought we fully deserved the win and were the better side from the off, a absolutely perfect and emotional moment with the 24th minutes applause for Joe, fair play to the Oxford fans joining in as well and perfectly finished with a goal at the same time, Oxford stopped clapping pretty quickly then!!
I saw Matty T's goal celebration and it looked to me like him and Browner did a handshake and made a big deal of it as if to take the p**s out of what Appleton said about them having shook hands on the deal.
As regards the team selection, I love that DC isn't afraid to use every member of his squad and has total faith in whoever he picks, and also goes to show that we have got a decent squad with strength in depth, much better than in recent times. Onwards and upwards. UTG!!

Great home performance - we played some good footie from the off, bossed midfield and played as a team that knows each other's game inside-out.
everyone played a minimum "good" and Montano, Easter and Taylor were too smart for their defence. can't wait for Bolton - a club record beckons !

Decent performance today, oxford looked a shadow of the team from last year. Clarke pleasantly surprised me in midfield, as did montano who should have been man of the match. Easter looked strong and lively first half and McChrystal looked solid enough. Bodin and gaffney very disappointing for me, gaffney looks unfit and nowhere near as sharp as he needs to be in this league. The Peterborough lad looked promising though. I think oxford will be lower mid table, a much bigger indication of where we'll be in this league will be Bolton on weds.

The thing is now how do Bolton prepare for our match, could be 5 3 2 could be 4 4 2. As for the strikers who will we start with. certainly gives them a lot to ponder.
