Look at the team that started on Sunday. Mildy, Easter, Lines and Monty have all played at this level. (And possibly Macca?) No one doubted Brown could do a job and Locks has been destined to go higher. The real surprises have been the Clarkes and Taylor. Its easy to say we have a conference side but really it's only a handful of players that you could pick out and most have shown they could be ok. I'm not against a few more coming in to strengthen the squad, but we do have a decent team. I wouldn't say Taylor has been a surprise? I still think DC will make a few additions but slowly integrate them into the team over the season when needed. What I like about us at the minute is that we could rest players against Oxford and still outplay them and win. DC is all about the squad not a team of 11, sometimes he will get it wrong but when he does I will be the first one to back him as he's not always going to get it right but most of the time he does.

Yeah, maybe I should have said unproven rather than surprise.

Yeah, maybe I should have said unproven rather than surprise. Fair enough, did confuse me a bit. I had an argument at the beginning of last season with someone on here who after the first game vs Northampton said "he wouldn't make it a league player", "rubbish" I said. Having said that I don't think many could have envisaged just how well he has done since promotion from the conference! Ellis is a disappointment for me, I really was hoping he would kick on after that purple patch in the conference. Really hope he can find some consistency to his game. People slate Gaffney but you know what you get with Gaffney, it's only his finishing which is lacking at the minute really.
