To my mind we are where we are and I have never really known any organisation carry out a review in public allocating blame to an individual for a past poor performance. It would be washing our dirty linen in public and result in accusations flying back and forth that would divide the club completely just at a time when we need unity to fight our way out of this mess. There should be only 1 question as far as I can see and that is " What lessons have been learned from last seasons disastrous campaign and what steps have been put in place to ensure it is not repeated?" [br. Absolutely .. Higgs has said he will respond to people through the current agreed recognised communication channels ... He is not going to respond to any Tom Dick or Harry or other group outside of the OS, Supporters club Media or fans directors etc and if any one on here were in charge of any other football club neither would they either. In my opinion if people want change and actually be listened to I believe there is no other way than through the Supporters Club. Higgs has made it clear today he is not listening to keyboard warriors in any shape or form. IMHO of course

You might be right. Would you like to question why this situation has arisen amongst Bristol Rovers supporters and the club, or does that bit not interest you ? Does the board want change ? Should there be change Lympstone ?

You might be right. Would you like to question why this situation has arisen amongst Bristol Rovers supporters and the club, or does that bit not interest you ? Does the board want change ? Should there be change Lympstone ? It would be philistines question as I said... I have been a rovers fan since 1966 when was taken to Eastville for the Bury game following the euphoria of England winning the World Cup. I grew up with KS. After the fires and loss of Eastville and subsequent moved to Ashton Twerton and the Mem I believed I had been through it all but was never prepared for this relegation even though the writing was so obviously on the wall since the Exeter away game. The reality of it all is it has happened and we cannot change that and no I do not believe anything will come of the Wycombe investigation that way. However I am an optimist and this just might be the best thing to have happened to the club as something really did need to change following our last relegation to L2. The Board does absolutely need to review its workings and decision making but like all boards this will not be done in the full public glare and it is totally unrealistic to expect full transparency. Sorry no one is going to get a public flogging but I do believe real answers will be found and the club will move forward from here through a real restructure as common sense tells me the Board have to be hurting as much as all of us. This situation is totally embarrassing. I have never seen any of the Splinter groups achieve anything yet even though would love KS back on the Board. Without doubt there is one word that sums this club up SPLIT. The Board is split the Blackthorn was spilt the fanbase is split and these 2 forums are split and to be honest I don't see any immediate change there. Whilst I don't think the Supporters Club is the answer itself as like the club to a degree it's been allowed to rot and desperately needs new ideas investment of people and an agenda of change because it seems to me the only real vehicle to get the the Board back on board so to speak. I know people won't like it but like the Board we are all going to have to start doing things we perhaps don't like if we are ever going to be successful in uniting this club to help it move forward once again. That's my opinion.

Thanks, I sense you've spoken from the heart there. I agree with your sentiments about the supporters club. I also feel we need some changes at boardroom level - a couple of them must have been there for 25 years plus and they are presiding over massive failure too ! New blood - fresh ideas.

Lympstonegas, one of the better things I have read concerning this sorry state of affairs. At the end of the day it has to come from the SC. In saying that I did attend the Welly meeting and will be there for the next one. Not really interested in the BRISCA thing though.

Thank you BS10 Yes that's my point I don't understand why people want to whip up a fury on here .., it's goes nowhere and solves nothing and does nothing to achieve any aims desired. If people want to attend the meetings perhaps the focus might now need to be ... How can we unite the 2 groups to support the SC in an agenda of change so we don't lose the impedus energy and great ideas currently being brought forward for the benefit of all at BRFC. No personal Agendas no Board bashing... Constructive ideas. In my mind this is the only way the board will engage and embrace ideas. It's a win win .. The groups get heard ... The SC gets a well needed makeover and the Board become involved to the benefit of all. Any other way is just going to lead to frustration and anger and get nobody anywhere IMHO of course

Perhaps the SC needs to be challenged from the outside for it to modernise it's self as opposed to be trying to be changed (again) from inside
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer in some ways

Prehaps if EVERY member of the SC e-mailed the SC over there concerns on the stance of the SC,etc they MIGHT just take some notice. After all there are 1000 plus members. We need to work through them as the Board have stated that is who they will(might) listen to.

Yeah but not every member of the SC cares. How many SC members simply have a membership for a priority ticket?

Will the bod ever answer any questions that have not been vetted beforehand.Answering questions which they themselves deem as worthy are a total cop out and shirking the real issues of where do we go from here.Problem is any approach from unofficial groups ,however well meaning, are seen as a head on confrontation and like in all great battles in history, the 'generals'will be the ones watching on from the rear in safety as the action unfolds.

The most frustrating aspect to the SC EGM was the lack of opportunity to ask follow-up questions. The initial answers from NH usually begged for clarification or discussion. Therefore at the Q&A on the 21 July it would be a good idea to look at the questions and especially the answers from the SC EGM and frame follow-up questions. Otherwise we are going to learn nothing new and go home in a worse frame of mind than when we arrived! The questions at the SC EGM were www.bristolroverssc.co.uk/news/article/2034...and here's the link for the official SC EGM minutes: www.bristolroverssc.co.uk/news/article/2041

In the middle of May there were only about 500 members for 2014-15, compared to just over 2000 at the end of 2013-14. I would be amazed if that figure goes above 1200 for the coming season.

Now we finally find ourselves in the conference will the board of directors,or indeed, must the bod stop chasing their losses like a gambling addict and set a realistic target of breaking even within 2 seasons, as all the larger and longer contracts will expire by then? Stating that the break even figure for home games was 9500 doesn't wash as being 3k under that figure would be a loss of approx. £1.5 m per season and the clubs total losses over the past 2 seasons was £900k in total.(I know there were transfer fees to take into consideration but over £2m?,I think not).

Very true MC. If we need to get 9500 to break even then we need to either cut costs or be more prudent with how the budget is spent.

I really think all you optimists/realists/pessimists put 21 July in your diaries - DONT MAKE ANY EXCUSES and go along to the event and listen to the questions and answers and make a fresh/up -to-date decision on if you think the club has put its house in order and looks ready to take the club back up the leagues. I'm going to ask lots of questions and follow -up questions - I want to hear the details / the reasons/ the excuses /the ideas and then I will know where I stand on the present and future prospects of my club.

Agreed. It's the last chance before the season starts for the club to convince us they are in control and have a plan....I just hope they are working as hard and are as as nervous/worried as some of us fans...
