Honestly ? These se are mostly young and supremely fit men who should be able to play 2 games a week with ease as I see it. If they can't concentrate and fulfill that then something is wrong but that's just my opinion. I really don't get the excuses made and especially for young, fit and healthy men. How many of us would love to play as our jobs eh. Gutted for our fans. Hoping a refund for rearrang d fixture is sorted. UTG It's all relative. They are perfectly capable of playing 2 games in a week, but you can't expect them to be as fresh as a team that only played one. Why do you think that athletes taper off their training in the week or 2 before a race? Cos they are girly men who need to man up innit lol. Blood n guts training and good food will sort it. A days rest to drop lactic acid is enough really but I can't really expect em to not have a beer. I guess it's down to each player but we do have good back up now so no excuses to be made, not really. A winning team will be confident and want to play as often as possible. A lot of it is down to confidence & attitude, no doubt of that

Absolutely soaked through! Blessing in disguise perhaps as we were f**king awful !!!! Agreed. First half, we were abysmal. Second half looked a little better, but I was still relieved when it was called off.

I don't know if this is the players maybe not liking a particular way of playing but we seem to get better in every game so far. Maybe DC needs to knock a few heads together ? Every person I've talked to or had text from habe said we were 5h1te

Every person I've talked to or had text from habe said we were 5h1te And they`re all right. Even Ellis, who looked so sharp against quality defenders, ( Bolton and Chelsea ) scarcely won a header or held the ball up for more than a second. We spent the first 45 minutes either giving the ball away with misplaced passes, or by dallying on it for so long that a Swindon player would nick it off us. The one player I thought had a good game for us, was Sinclair. Was all over the pitch, in defence and attack.

The problem we've got in that formation is when we've got the ball at the back we've got no outlet because the opposition close down our two strikers so we can't pass to them and everybody else is in or around our penalty area so we end up dicking about with it in our own third which is really bloody dangerous.

Theoretically, ( playing 3-5-2 ) we should have an outlet from the two wing backs. But it certainly didn`t happen today.

To be honest our wing backs generally have a nightmare in that formation because they spend the whole game getting outnumbered 2-1 and just spend the game running around like headless chickens. When we win the ball they do move forward but they hardly ever get a pass because they're outnumbered 2-1 and well marked by the oppositions full backs and wingers. Then we try and play it through the middle which in your own third is a dangerous thing to do and we gave it away countless times that way today. It just doesn't seem to work.

Problem is Browner is never going to be a WB, and Leads seems to be struggling for form. It seemed an odd decision dropping Mildenhall today, particularly against his former club, but keeping Leads in the team rather than starting with Roberts. Hopefully, DC will start with a attacking 4-4-2 line up against struggling Rochdale in a couple of weeks time.

With reference to the wingback situation, do you notice that James Clarke will never pass the ball to Leadbitter? Instead of a simple pass to Leadbitter, he will try dribbling or passing the ball sideways or even backwards.

Not sure we were quite as bad as many are making out but we do definitely need to improve.
We rode our luck a couple of times in the first half and were fortunate not to go in at least 1 down. We seemed to be sitting very deep and only Lines of our midfield 3 looked comfortable on the ball. Had a few half chances on the break but overall disappointing.
However, I thought we looked better after the break and I actually think we might have gone on to win had the match played out.
No question we need more quality in midfield though. DC says they'll be 2 more new faces this week and at least 1 - if not both - need to be quality midfield players.

The good news is we moved up a couple of places, even though we didn't play!

We should have been about 3 or 4 down at HT if Swindon had someone that could actually finish. It was by luck more than skill that we went in level at HT.

Chelsea was only four days ago! Such a contrast. When we play Swindon Tuesday? The game may pan out differently.

But that's the last three games we've been poor, DC himself suggesting 5 or 6 players didn't turn up at Southend(?), they need to start turning up soon or the 4 players DC intends bringing in will be taking their places.

Southend and apparently today granted but are you including Chelsea as the third game? If players don't turn up its their own funeral. They know the demands from Darrell but is the real reason not that they didn't turn up so to speak but aren't capable of consistency and this league is one too far? The new players brought in deserve their chance if current players aren't delivering but it's midfield where the problem lies imo.
