He, he, I've got four Indians working in my office, and I also deal with another team of about 10 of them. England are moving nicely along at 239/3........I'm going to keep my powder dry for another hour or two.

A good days batting by England,304-4 I was thinking earlier how lucky we are to have 2 of our best bowlers ever playing, and 2 of our best batsmen ever playing together(Stokes is right up there too for all rounder!) This test has an Indian test written all over it. Eng 550-9 Dec Ind 500- all out Eng 350 - 8 Match drawn.

In an age where were losing overs through slow over rates its refreshing to see a team bowl an EXTRA 3 overs!!!

It's a new Test venue. If you look at the Domestic games played there the team batting first usually racks up a large score, and then the pitch starts to fall apart. If England can get a 500+ score, I will take them to win the game.

I think England now realise that, and he has morphed from a bowler who could bat a bit, into a batsman who can bowl a bit, hence the promotion to No.5

It at least ensures that England cannot/should not lose the match. But as we all know, it's difficult to judge a wicket until both teams have batted (or bowled) on it.

I can`t believe the pitch that the Indians prepared. I`d have thought that they`d have gone for the same fizzing turners, that the Bangladeshis came up with. Not that lifeless dog of a wicket. I can only assume that some high up Indian politicians, had serious money on a draw.

I can only assume that some high up Indian politicians, had serious money on a draw. That was a typical Indian wicket. Its to do with India historically wanting to produce top quality batsmen, the best way to do this is produce flat as a pancake pitches. Of-course the extra revenue from 5 days instead of 3/4 comes in handy too.

God that was painful to watch.
I know were going for the draw, but 25 runs from 144 balls & 54 from 189 balls is too defensive IMO.
Just blocking everything and your going backwards, the mindset sets in and before we know it we've lost by 250 runs.
I hope I'm wrong, but cant see it some how.

Not to sure how to take that post? England played too defensive, but India played attacking cricket. What did you expect to happen?
