It's just a football forum thing, isn't it?
When we win, who's going to comment that if DC had tried X upfront instead of Y, we could have scored a couple more goals?
When we lose, all the moaners / would-be coaches / realists (delete as applicable), have a view that suggests ways in which DC could have prevented the loss.
So inevitably, even when in the great scheme of things we are actually still doing really well, on an individual game basis, every defeat is going to attract a lot more debate than every victory.

Presumably this also includes DC himself. He often comes on the radio and says 'if I'd done...' or 'Such a player didn't...' Maybe be he posts on here in disguise!

FWIW I did go to Charlton & whilst disappointed with the result I don't think I wasted my money. The performance especially the defending was poor but I have seen much worse on my travels & even at the Mem in recent years where I feel I should have been offered a refund - this wasn't that bad!! I think the reaction to this defeat is completely OTT - I understand criticism & people disappointed but similar criticism is spouted every game, win or lose unless DC picks the team certain people want. If there were players moaning in the stands, then I would want them as far away from the first team as possible, we don't need 'em, whoever they are. We are all supporters, irrespective of how many games we go to or don't go to, opinions should be respected, but it seems the same anti management drivel is regurgitated every game & it really tiresome now IMO

And I thought we were in the match until the third goal, despite everything. & I went to Shrewsbury. As the OP says, I'll judge DC at the end of the season, not now.

this has turned into the most bonkers thread on here for... well, at least a few hours I will have to restrain myself from commenting. Could be here all night. 10th in Lge 1. Playing attractive football (well, 2nd half usually). Still getting to grips with a double promotion and which players are good enough at such a rapid rise. Biggest crowds for years. Lots of important infrastructure changes behind the scenes. Huge staff improvements and two genuine gas legends (Scooter & Stewie) doing really good work. Swindon, MK dons, Charlton, Gillingham, Coventry etc all below us. Highest placed team of the 4 promoted teams. And a new scoreboard with a goal graphic.

And a new scoreboard with a goal graphic. Do you know what the new scoreboard does at Ashton Gate when City score?

Do you know what the new scoreboard does at Ashton Gate when City score? No. Neither do they. They've only had it a year.

I love it when a pimp tells jokes to himself :homo:
Which reminds me - did you hear about the dyslexic pimp who invested all his money into a warehouse?

And a new scoreboard with a goal graphic. Do you know what the new scoreboard does at Ashton Gate when City score? Tickets are £5 more expensive at the next home game.

Does that state that all supporters who did not go to Charlton are armchair supporters? The problem with forums is that people read into some things what they want to read. They then post it as if it is fact, this in turn leads to it being accepted as others to be fact. I term this "Forum Fact Syndrome" (FFS). It frequently leads to even more tangents than usual appearing in threads (such as my own posting on here ). So do you think he was just calling ME an armchair supporter rather than everyone who didn't go to Charlton? It must be one or the other. I like that term btw. Could be used quite frequently on here. UTG! As I said, people read into things what they want. I do not think he called you an armchair supporter; he was pointing out that he was there while you were not, so he is able to give a first hand opinion. Whether his opinion is shared by others or not is what should be being debated in the nature of this thread.
