I was actually stood next to 1 or 2 fans moaning on Saturday believe it or not! "I don't want to see this", "stop taking the p**s", referrring to the likes of Bodin and Harrison who were obviously full to the brim of confidence when we were 5-0 up. I felt like turning round and saying "If you don't want to see that sort of thing at 5-0 up then when do you want to bloody see it!"
Anybody else hear any negativity or even agree with the bloke above?!
It just goes to show that will always be a few negative idiots no matter how well we are doing and to be honest if you're going to moan after 2 promotions and 5-0 up in match then why bother!!!

We always hear the statement "everyone is entitled to an opinion"!
Clearly there is a time and a place for it, I for one are glad we were showboating to rub it in to those who think they are bigger and better than this club. You all know who I mean

There are people stood near me who shout "Dam hell taylor" every time a ball or cross flys 10 yrds over his head.

Lose the next couple and you will hear the same negativity. "has DC taken us as far as he can?" "Does he know how to sign quality players?" etc.
It's just the world we live in. Three seasons ago we went out of the league, but now we've had back-to-back promotions it's as if that never happened to some and promotions are the only thing good enough.
Football is strange from that point of view. You pay your money but you can't be guaranteed of a quality product. Its about the competition and the hope you will be the best, or the new player that suddenly breaks through and is worth coming to see.
Sadly it's a societal thing nowadays in my opinion. People have very short memories!

On the showboating, it was important to keep the clean sheet (another), keep it tight, for confidence 'moving forward' in the season. So if fancy-dan fannying about loses the ball and allows JJO'T to score, damage to morale ensues. (No it wsn't me,GGMI!)

Wow. Utter madness.
Just goes to show that there are people who are only happy when there's something to moan about.

Tis a fact of life that some people are only happy when they are moaning.
Its in their DNA (Distingtive Negative Attitude)
I was totally in awe of Saturdays game. A brilliant team effort. It easy to praise a striker who scores 4 goals, rightly so, but it was the team work that impressed me the most.

Talking of negativity, I haven't seen a lot of a certain poster praising our result on Saturday? Couldn't get rid of him last week

I must say before any of you call me a moaner that I am a completely positive person, I have backed DC, the board and the players in every single debate on here and at 5-0 up in a game I don't understand that anyone can moan at the team. However, I do sometimes question if showboating and fancy flicks are necessary. If they are likely to be the most effective way forward then fair enough. But when someone tries to do a fancy flick and gives possession away when they could've just as effectively done a routine pass then it looks a bit ridiculous no matter what the scoreline is. I would rather try and win 6-0 or 7-0 playing the way we have been playing than risk giving possession and a goal away because someone is showboating. I was always taught to treat a winning situation as if it is 0-0 ie. don't let off and go for the jugular. I know it looks nice when showboating comes off but if it doesn't then it is always going to be questioned. Just my opinion of course. UTG!

It makes you wonder how many comments on here are actually rational thoughts doesn't it? If people can't even react appropriately to the players who have put them 5-0 up while they're STILL AT THE GAME how can they be expected to say anything sensible hours or days later or after a drink.

The way I see it is that these players are going to be too frightened to try anything too fancy or risky most of the time as it could cost the team points but when 5-0 up then why not, they won't get many chances to do that in a competitive game with 8500 fans and if it comes off then it can only do wonders for their confidence, if it doesn't then there is not going to be much of a negative impact. Not only that but people go to football matches to be entertained. Not to watch teams playing safe football at 5-0 up.

I'm more entertained by Rovers winning 5-0 than 5-1. 'Keepie-uppie merchants' don't float my boat either.

I think there is certainly more criticism and less humour that at games than there was 20 or 30 years ago... it's a society that is more impatient and we certainly have a share of our grumpy old gits. That said there is less hooliganism but I do find the Mem a rather grumpy places at times...perhaps it's a reflection of the age-profile of our supporters?
