There's a gripe we had many moons ago that never rears its head now.
Think back to our previous managers. There was a certain thing which we would often get narked off about.
Here's a clue. Positions out players of.
One thing I am glad to forget was the hapless McGhee playing parkes left wing....many managers do this. This is the trade off we get for playing a squad game.
You could argue brown and leads as WB may be out of position. I would say that's still basically their position, they just aren't as good in that role.
Any other example I have missed? Thoughts?

DC played Sinclair out wide a few times but soon gave that up as a bad job.

When I first saw him, I thought "he looks just like a CF". :-)

Moore and Bodin ended last weekend at Fleetwood like a pair of new fullbacks.

Gary Kenneth on the pitch. Does that count, surely his position was anywhere else. And Derek Riordan.
On a serious note i recall our winger Tony Pounder playing up front against Swindon and ripping them apart. A successful move out of position

A successful move out of position if that was the game rovers won 2-1 at the county ground then there were no match highlights supplied to rovers..... so I kid you not that the highlights were authentically portrayed using subbuteo for the seasons official season review vhs, with commentary.... absolutely ridiculous yet hilarious....

I'm pretty sure there was a game under Graydon, where all bar one of the outfield players was really a centre-half. It was home game and it was awful.

I was speechless when he lumbered onto the pitch. He looked like two Ian Dowie's welded into one!

Didn't Carl Saunders used to be a right back at Stoke?
Oh and in recent times Gosling being anywhere near the pitch would be out of position imo.

Just as well he was "near" the pitch against D/R in May wasn't it? UTG!

Ray Mabbutt although a wing half (midfielder) played in every position at one time or another from stand-in goal keeper to centre forward and even managed a hat trick as centre forward against Northampton in 1967.
