I think this whole load of bollox was started by him last night It only really picked up steam when that hack Andy Stockhausen started tweeting about it. His first tweet sounded like a wind up but subsequent tweets seemed more genuine. It's interesting that he's seems to have been sacked by the Post very recently so part of me is still clinging to the idea that it's all an elaborate wind up. The thing that worries me is that Ali Durden has thrown his cap in to the ring and I really can't see him saying anything unless his source was concrete. On a slightly unrelated note it's worth noting that the Sh*thausen retweeted this about his former colleagues: So you get an idea of the calibre of bloke he is... Still haven't seen one sred of credible evidence though

When Taylor, Stewart, Lambert, Roberts, Hayles and others left I've always wished them well and followed their careers ...I will really struggle to do the same with MT - I guess its the club and the fee.

Taylor is nowhere near the class of those strikers above... exception being his name sake, Gareth.

Agreed, and I have always said that on here. Never rated him as highly as Lambert, Stewart, Hayles etc. I think a lot of fans would agree with you on that. Which I've always found odd as Taylor's goals to game ratio is the pick of the bunch. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bristol_Rovers_F.C._playersOnly 13 players have scored more league goals for Rovers than Taylor. Only Bradford has a higher goals per game ratio. I suspect it's because his goals have come at a lower level, although from memory he's scored very few penalties (remember, they don't count) compared to someone like Lambert.

Maybe the quality of the goals? Lambert scored a number of absolute screamers. Taylor scores most of his from inside the box. Not that it matters, they're all worth the same. UTG!

So desperate are the BP for clicks, Stockhausen has virtually turned into an internet troll, in any case. But yeah, being one of the best reporters at the BP is a bit like one of the best players at your 11th Division pub team.

Lambert used to win games on his own in a relatively poor side, Taylor has been the beneficiary of a very industrious, creative squad and won't be too difficult to replace with any half decent finisher, imo of course. Easter has a decent goals to minutes record this season, operating mainly as Taylor's stand in and I wouldn't be dismayed to see him given a stay of execution in light of recent developments.

True, it's harder to form a picture of any of Taylor's goals whereas I can instantly visualise most of Bodin's goals over the last couple of seasons.
