MT was on about £3500 per week in his new deal with us. Don't know if anyone out there can find out, but am I right in saying that if a player is bought from us under this sort of deal i.e. We didn't want to sell him, that we can enforce the sh*t to pay up his contract. In other words, he had 74 weeks left on his deal, so in addition to whatever the contractual figure was, we are entitled to 74 x £3500 which means an additional sum of £259,000. We therefore start getting nearer to the figure I heard which was about £1m. ( £259k plus £325k = £584k.) The contractual figure I heard was £850k, but I have not been able to get that verified. Wouldn't be too upset with that if its true tbh. Plus the fact we are saving his wages for half a season (probably another £100k) means we are much better off financially. I don't think we are going to be in the playoffs this year so the more money we have got in the bank ready for a push next season, the better. UTG!

I am informed that the deal had "added value" on top of the £300k fee so would back up your post

That's 5 Matt Taylor's then. That's a vast amount of money for a player on his way down. Sorry, bad deal for me Re-read his post Durr
