crickey, I reckon we'd take a thousand plus in any situation purely because it's one of the few truly historical grounds left in England.... mind you, I guess we are slightly more culturally aware than them.... Thought they said on radio Briz they sold out their tickets Yeah they did. Just made that up as that's what they made up about our away following on otib. Apparently we took 143 to Bolton. Anyway unlike on that scummy site, our posters have questioned it rather than take someone's post as gospel. I'm glad they took 2500. Crap drive back when you're on the brink!

Problem is though we don't need James to put in a shift like Sincs we need him to put the ball in the damn net, or find another striker who can so he can do the dirty work. Fair comment but imo there's definitely a player there. He worked extremely hard tonight but not only that his hold up play was good & only a goal line clearance stopped him from scoring. Im certainly not going to write him off yet

Personally I think we're a pair of strikers short of that, and with Sweeney and Lumley sure to return at the end of the season I'd say we're short of those positions for next season as well, but with a whole summer to recruit I think next season will be a good one. Utg If we could find another 40 goals we'd win the division! I'm very much a fan of this evolution not revolution but I'd like to see us spend money to get Sweeney and Lumley in permanently. We look a much better side since they've come in. Exciting times regardless! I didn't mean 2 20+ goal strikers, just 2 strikers.. i don't think any of our current ones are good enough and thought Taylor needed a new strike partner anyway, so with him gone I think we need 2.. stoke have only just signed Sweeney haven't they? so I'm not holding my breath on that, and QPR can just loan Lumley out again so don't see why they'd let him go permanently either, I'm 99% sure we won't have either next season.. but that doesn't mean we won't get others that are just as good. agree, exciting times!

My worry is dc doesn't have a great record on signing keepers. I hope we can get qpr to loan us lumley for the whole of next season.

That's the one yeah, season long loan.. that's the only way I see him staying and I hope that's the case.. BUT dc has said he wants perm signings over loans.. I just want it to be the summer already lol

Special mentions for J Clarke and Luke James and a goal for Byron Moore. Who'd have thought it! 😂 J Clarke has never done much wrong for us though, in fairness. His only bad spell coincided with a massive bad patch for the team defensively. James and Moore are talented individuals who have been low on confidence. Hope we see more from all of them before the season ends. No he hasn't but he is a player of limited ability and definitely not a LB.

Please tell me your definition of 'limited ability' as in your words he has done little wrong, therefore what more are expecting from a full back?

And the ability to cover at full back on his weakest side adds another string to his bow. Whenever I've seen Clarke I've been pleasantly surprised by his ability and felt he has been unlucky not to play more.

James has to start scoring soon to win a contract for next season, i just hope he does as if he can add goals to his work rate he'll be an hell of an asset.

On the radio I heard the phrase 'great run from james Clarke' several times, or 'great work from james Clarke'

fair enough when you explain your feelings.
I think we can all agree that it's very frustrating to see such dominance and only 1 goal. But then again that's what makes us a mid-table team - we beat the poor teams at home, draw against the good ones, and away is a mix.
The fact (now this one really is a fact...) that until last night Moore & James had not yet scored this season is a worry. {BTW - Nor have sincs or leads - we do need others chipping in with goals}
I don't believe in luck. I don't believe that a striker who doesn't score goals is unlucky, and that applies to Gaffney as well as James. Both need work on that aspect of their game.

Now I seem to recall these type of words being said about a similarly misfiring striker a couple of years ago. I remember him doing a pretty good impersonation of a caterpillar, but then that would be pretty easy for a snake! The point is, if you see value in his all round play, that is a very good thing. He has a chance from now until the end of the season and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he starts banging them in soon.

I don't think I'm taking it in isolation but at the moment of elation at the end of a great performance just enjoy it. Yes we all know the attack might not be good enough, the players in attack might not be good enough, DC knows that and will be acting on it in the Summer. But tonight, or rather last night let's just enjoy the moment, I'm sure all those who went will! Sounds like we battered them. UTG!

Watching on Facebook for the second half we were brilliant. If only we could score we'd be going places. Easier fixtures here on in, unbeaten in Feb, let's see if we can turn draws into wins. Oxford and Southend next !
