One thing I cannot stress enough I that all tweets remain professional. Please make points on Twitter without using bad language or derogatory remarks - we want to come out of this looking better than sainsburys remember!! That's the entire point - to show that they are wrong. It goes without saying, please also do not threaten them in any way whatsoever. A threat such as "I will make sure that my family and I will never shop in Sainsburys again until you honour your word," would be ok. I get where you're coming from though.

From what I can see Sainsburys twitter just contains their replies rather than questions to them. Has anyone managed to get a response from them? Same here. I don't really understand twitter yet, what do we need to do to get noticed? do we need someone with a lot of followers to re-tweet? any famous fans we should include ? I'm thinking Adam Virgo would be a good starting point, he's always on twitter and isn't afraid of a little controversy.

How many Liverpudlians refuse to buy the SUN? Doubt if it bothers them much. Clearly we could never hit them in the pocket. It's bad publicity they won't like. The negative publicity is what will get their attention but the figures are not necessarily to be sniffed at - I reckon I spend on average £150 on food every week at Sainsburys plus £60 on petrol. That's almost £11,000 a year which will now be going to their competition. Multiply that by just 90 like minded rovers households then that's a million pounds a year they've lost out on.

Getting the message out there to the matchday fans and to Sainsburys is the crucial and the difficult part. To just expand on the figures a little further. Just looking at the matchday fans. Lets say they represent 3,000 different housholds. Lets assume 1,000 of those currently use Sainsburys and assuming they each spend just £5,000 a year. If we were able to convince those 1,000 householders to switch to another retailer then that's 5 million of turnover they've lost straight away. It's not even as if making that change is a difficult thing to do, there is loads of choice these days. I was wondering if we could set up some kind of pledge on this forum whereby you could pledge to stop using Sainsbury's until they stop messing us around, enter the amount you spend annually and include a totaliser so the fans can see how much collective spending power they have. We could then send a link to Sainsbury's so they get the message.

Dreaming if you think rovers fans pressure through not shopping at Sainsbury will make a dot of difference. They could drop fuel by a penny and make that million back in hours. (Pure guesswork on my part but you get what I'm saying) Their turnover is colossal.
It is bad press that hurts them not £££ directly. Look at the Blackthorn turnaround when they introduced the new blend. Massive pressure on a single production line just got it through. Now think how small balackthorn is by comparison.
