Got a horrible feeling that he has only the vaguest idea who they're playing. 'last chance saloon for their players' does he think we're C*ty? Poor pitch? Idiot.

He's probably got 100 or so generic comments on his computer with "Insert Name of This Weeks Team Here" and "Insert Name of Manager of This weeks Team Here" and has them on a loop, 'cos what he's saying makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What's he on about "Last chance saloon"? I think he's in for a bit of a rude awakening come 3 O'clock this Saturday. UTG!

Don't think he made much sense doing his half time talk on the pitch either bless him - I suppose he could mean if we don't beat them Saturday it will make our chances of reaching the playoffs impossible in his book ??

Never heard the expression 'jungle drums', I took it to mean like war drums or those you'd find on an ancient galley - they're thumping cos we need wins to have a playoff chance? Anyway, let's smash em 💥 Jungle drums were used to pass messages from tribe to tribe .....are rovers sending angry messages out ?
Perhaps they have been reading TBones' posts about how sh** our manager is and how crap Taylor sorry Gaffney is...

Well I thought that may be the case but "Last chance saloon" suggests an air of desperation and nothing could be further from the truth. When our team goes out to play it's very business like and professional. No such thing as a lost cause. 1-nil down, 2-nil down no matter keep going we'll get something out of this, never say die. That's what this teams all about. No desperation or doubt there. I mean, how many of you can't wait for Saturday to roll around? thumbs up if I'm right. UTG!

I suppose the "last chance saloon" comment is fairly accurate as a defeat would leave us with only a glimmer of a play-off chance. The pitch is superb and the team have played some smashing football this season so the other stuff is nonsense.

What kind of manager prepares a team to play against one player? Jungle Drums? I know we're a long way from the centre of the universe which is London and Essex, but we actually have landlines and mobile phones. Look, I'm using a TABLET to write this message! I think you'd like it down here, we also have massage parlours.

I took that as though it is a must win game for us if we want to make the playoffs. In which case, he is right.

We should all wear sunglasses on Saturday to counteract Phil Brown's orange skin!

It's all mind games. If anything Southend are under more pressure than us considering they are closer to the playoffs and have been in this league for the longer amount of time. more importantly, DC would probably have the intelligence to run round or climb over a brick wall. So there Orange Phil.

Agree with what people have posted. A lot of people have criticised our pitch before they came here and were very quiet afterwards. On the Bradford and Sheffield U forums they were critical of the pitch before the game as were a couple of others. I think most still think we've got the rugby here and are thinking back to 2012/13/14 when it wasn't the best. Now it looks good and plays very well. Also, do we play direct? Sometimes we don't do it enough but with Lines and OC we play through the midfield and from the wings with Bodin and our full backs. The more I hear from other managers who don't really appear to know much about us or where we play the luckier I think we are with DC and his team! UTG! You can always tell how much research clubs have done on us. Many managers don't give us a mention before or after a game, and those are often the teams we've turned over, Bolton and the first game against MK Dons were good examples of that (The 3-3 counts as turning them over in my eyes). Karl Robinson was so disrespectful to us at the time. They're are too many managers who never give the opposition any credit, and that is very disrespectful IMO. DC always does it the right way, which is just another reason to like the guy, if one were needed. For the home game against us on the 19th November MK Dons had done a lot of homework, I have seen copies of Robinsons notes found in the dressing room afterwards, went down to the details of each players weaknesses and which foot is their strongest. Still couldn't beat us mind you, ultimately one of the final nails in his managerial coffin at McFranchise. UTG

He never mentioned is at either his pure match or post match press conferences, which is very disrespectful in my opinion. He deserved everything he got at the MK franchise

He deserved everything he got at the MK franchise The notes were found in the dressing room by staff cleaning up after the match, passed on to DC by said staff. Sometime later they were in the public domain and are pretty accurate in their description of each player, I have seen a copy of these notes and can therefore confirm there accuracy. Lets be aving these sarfend geezers

Seriously? From where I stand on the Blackthorn it's looked in very good condition throughout this season. Surprised at that. I meant to say what he said about the pitch is rubbish. that's how I took it

Last time he came here was a few weeks before we were relegated (in JW's last home game) so that might colour his thinking. Think he speaks well of us, nice to hear thoughs from someone who has a decent pedigree in management. He is talking garbage re the pitch though. He was here for the Bolton game in August. I bumped into him at the Chippie opposite the Vic, he had fish & chips, told him he should have gone for the Clarkes Pie !! That makes the comment even more bizarre then. If he saw the pitch in August it was 100% perfect, and now it's still very good.
Either mind games or pure ignorance. I suspect the later.
