That 'down on his knees' after the shootout sums him up for me. He stayed after relegation to get us back up and he bloody did it. He was class that season, and most of last season too. Cheers MM!!

Always willing to talk to fans away from the club, remember having a long chat with him over a Costa Coffee in WOT. Will be missed and i wish him all the very best for the future, unlike the double talking sh*tster snake

I'll never forget McChrystal's face when Mansell scored at Wembley. He put in a mammoth performance that day and I really felt the relief he felt rather than the elation the others seemed to be experiencing. I think if Macca hadn't been such a body-on-the-line, defend-at-all-costs defender then he may not have struggled with injury quite so much over the past season or two. Fortunately for us he was and that speaks volumes about the man. I also think that we have to credit him hugely for his role in Tom Lockyer's development, Locks always looked so much more assured with MMc alongside him before Sweeney came in. Thanks for everything Macca. You'll be missed.

Think that's Parkesy mate. Ha! Brilliant. I'm sure Macca was doing the same, though. (That's supposed to be v Mansfield but was probably Wycombe away!) Anyway, he was the first player to front up after relegation:

We should have kept him as a backup for Jo Lumley. All the best Macca and thanks for everything.

Good Luck for the future Macca - thanks for everything. Will always remember him for sticking with the club, and being an important part of the back-to-back promotions. Bossed the defence when called upon to play against Northampton this season - a true gent.

I'm sorry he left without us fans having a chance to give him a proper farewell. I think he has been one of the best clubmen we've had at the Mem since 2000. I will never forget his performance at Wembley and his reaction of sheer relief when Mans scored. To have been in the relegated team, stay and then be part of two promotions shows how he was able to improve his standard. I think it also shows with others how bad the club management was prior to 2014 to get relegated when DC got two promotions with pretty much the same defence and keepers. Well done Macca you deserve the grateful thanks and lasting respect of all true gasheads. UTG!

All good things come to an end but it's still a great shame. Thanks for everything Macca, you always gave everything, can't ask for more than that.

Thank you Macca for everything, another one who will always be welcomed back to us in years to come for everything he did, a true club man who left everything on the pitch every game he played for us, top bloke.

Great player, should be given a 'send off' at half time tomorrow... but it never happens like that. We owe a great deal to him and the players like him that have helped drag this club forwards over the last few seasons.
Best of luck fella!

Assuming he can't now get fixed up with another club for tomorrow why can't the club get Macca to do the half time draw? Not quite a Gas legend but up there with some of our best players in recent times, perhaps we need a new class for this type of player?
