My own opinions from the game:
Lumley 7 Dealt with what he had to but feel he could get the ball out quicker
Leadbitter 8 Almost all of our attacks in the second half went through him. On replay, it seems he dived in early for their goal though Lockyer 7 Fairly solid Sweeney 7 Defended well in the main, but could have been sent off for a last-man shirt pull Brown 7 Wasn't too troubled down his flank
Bodin 6 Not his day, also neglected some of his defensive duties second half O. Clarke 8.5 Dominated the midfield with good tackling and running. Game went away from us when he went off. Lines 6.5 Not as influential as Clarke. Montano 7.5 Put in a good shift both and linked up well. Also, put in a really good defensive display.
James 7 Good link-up play and assist for Gaffney. Penalty wasn't the worst but he did fade second half. Gaffney 8 Well-taken goal and worked hard to create chances. Good partnership with James.
Subs: Moore 6 Can't pinpoint anything he did badly, but he seemed defensively weaker than Montano and got involved less. Easter 6 Didn't gte too much of a chance to show anything Mansell 6 Battled hard but it was all a bit messy when he came on
Crowd 6.5 Started strong, understandably nervous at the end Ref 8 Got most decisions right, could have sent off Sweeney but I didn't think there was much in the Easter penalty claim. Chesterfield 4.5 Half an hour in they looked like being the worst team we've played this season. They were probably the worst technically and made loads of simple mistakes, but credit to them they kept going and deserved their goal.

Results in and Ollie Clarke was Man of the Match with a score of 8.08.
Clarke now has seven MotMs this season, at least three more than any other player. Lockyer holds the record for most in a season with 13 last season, while Parkes got eight in the Conference season.
The three strikers used most this season have remarkably similar season averages. Matty Taylor averaged 5.93, while both Harrison and Gaffney now have averages of 5.95. Luke James is ahead of all of them however on 6.15.
The referee was the fourth highest rated referee of the season behind the refs in the home games against Bury (7.3), Northampton (7.2) and Cardiff (7.1). The highest rated referee in an away game was at Oldham (6.7)
The referees this season have been rating worse than those in the Conference season. That season, the average referee rated 4.82, this season it is 4.76. Last season in League Two, the average was 5.37.
Next game will be the 40th league game of the season, so more season stats will follow.
Lumley 7.0
Leadbitter 8.0 Lockyer 7.0 Sweeney 6.9 Brown 6.7
Bodin 6.1 O. Clarke 8.1 Lines 7.1 Montano 6.9
James 6.7 Gaffney 7.9
Subs: Moore 5.6 Mansell 6.1 Easter 6.0
Crowd 6.8 Ref 7.1 Chesterfield 4.6

And that was before anyone got p*ssed off with him for crossing the river. He wasn't actually that popular even before his departure was he? UTG!

Blow me, the highest rated refs were all games Rovers won ! who'd 'ave thought it The highest rated refs this season in defeats were against Charlton at home and Shrewsbury away (both 6.5). In both of these games, the ref scored higher than any Rovers player. The highest ever rating for a ref in a defeat was the 7.1 at home to Portsmouth last season.

Luke James is ahead of all of them however on 6.15. That is an unbelievable, and frankly ridiculous stat!! My mind is blown. It's mainly down to the fact that we've had good results whilst James has been in the team recently. He's only lost once in 7 starts while Taylor for example lost 9 out of 23 starts. For that same reason, Sweeney and Lumley are currently way ahead of anyone else with their season averages. Ratings in defeats are lower across the board and some of the worst defeats can destroy an average. For example, Gaffney's average gets dragged down by defeats at Shrewsbury (3.3), Charlton (3.4) and Walsall (2.2). Meanwhile James' worst score is a fairly respectable 5.0 in the loss at Bury. Whether players should be rated higher just because we win is an interesting debate. Maybe James' individual performance have been overrated due to the team doing well, but then if the team is doing better with him he must be having an effect.
