Not sure if serious or... Haha! So moanmoanmoan would have shut up shop and had us settle for being 5 points behind Southend and 6 behind Millwall with 3 games to play Imagine the reaction on here if DC had actually done that! The alternative was to lose 3-1 to another relegation battler and end the season in ten minutes. The "going for it" tactic has not worked that well this season compared to previously ,probably due to even the poorer clubs having the ability to exploit and punish the gaps left behind.Being six points behind millwall with them coming to the mem and them going to fleetwood monday offered some chance if only small. Its been a very good first season in league one though i suspect my prediction of 7th or 8th might now be a tall order to achieve as well...time will tell

This tactic of abandoning defence has not worked on a number of occasions this season and it has cost us vital points which could have put us in the play offs. Please keep your insults to yourself. Can you list the games where we've lost the 7/8pts needed to put us in the play off spots tonight? Peterborough at home for 3.

Roos dropped a cross when we were 1-0 up, how was that down to DC going for a win? Then Locks got caught out for the second goal so he clearly wasn't playing upfront at the end of that game. I can't recall any game at the Mem this season where I've come away thinking why didn't DC just settle for a draw although there aren't that many he hasn't won at home.

I believe if DC had a more defensive approach in away games we were capable of picking up those points.

I think we've been too cautious in away games this season. The rope a dope tactics worked brilliantly in the previous 2 seasons, but it seems we've been rumbled on that score.Better opposition of course but we need to somehow replicate the home form which will be a hard task. You can be certain that DC has learned a great deal about this division and be better prepared for next season.Nailed on top 10 finish for us now so no complaints from me.

Have we ever won at Gillingham? I have bad memories from each visit. Once when we lost and there was a mass brawl of players -I think we had one or two sent off. Once in the FA Cup when I reached the ground to find out the match had been called off. And today . Hope they are relegated - we seem to have a losing mentality in and around London these days.

That ignores the early part of the season where those tactics worked at Swindon, Northampton etc. Think it was personnel, we were leaking goals even in the away games we were winning, and eventually we got found out at Millwall/Charlton, and this extended to games we should be getting points from.. thinking Chesterfield, Shrewsbury and others. Since we tightened up with the January signings, our away form has been good enough (9pts from 8 games) to sustain a play-off challenge with the home form we have. Issue is that since Jan the goals have dried up, so the gung ho approach hasn't really worked.

Punisher , 90th min. Was it March we drew 6 consecutive games? Not a great return. That's where we lost touch. Anyway it's been another good year. Couple of newbies and we can kick on next season. RTID

RTID Exactly how I feel, we only had to win 1 or 2 of that run of draws and we'd be right in the play-off mix, it's been a good season that we've hopefully learned from and after a bit of wheeling & dealing from DC in the summer next season could be even better.

Lets be honest today we were terrible especially in attack. We do not have a decent centre forward in the club, James, Easter, Ellis and Gaffney no defence is going to say "we have got our hands full today"; if DC stays, I hope he gets rid of all four and brings in a new group.

We certainly need to add a couple of strikers to the squad who can bag more than 10 goals each a season but as a squad we will need at least 4 or 5 strikers so perhaps a couple of the ones mentioned / Lucas might need to be retained - recruiting 4 or 5 might be too much of an ask?

Thinking back over the season I think that Roos and Puddy cost us a fair few goals/points between them. Oh to have had Lumley from the start. Ifs, and's and maybe's

Yes, 1 effective striker and a permanent goal keeper, a very long list. Add another four or five to that small list and we might have a chance of challenging near the top. Anything less than that and we may well find ourselves nearer the bottom of the table. That many changes will surely have totally the wrong effect. Teams who struggle o in their 2nd season, are generally the ones who make the most changes. It ain't broke, so doesn't need that much fixing!

Fair, but it was in reply to "This tactic of abandoning defence has not worked on a number of occasions this season and it has cost us vital points which could have put us in the play offs." and I'm not sure Peterborough falls into that category.

All the times we chased a win at the end of the game and got a late goal and three points, I think it was the right decision, but all the times we chased a win at the end of the game and conceded a late goal, I think it was the wrong decision, and I say that without the benefit of hindsight.
