Back in the eighties, when vinyl was still king, I always wanted to get my hands on a Pink Triangle PT Anniversary turntable with its solid glass platter and Audio Technical moving coil cartridge. Much cooler than the Linn Sondek LP12.

The thread has become a "funny" thread though i never once laughed but the clear answer is geoff bradford as he just stands head and shoulders above anybody else. I met him at southmead hospital when i worked there in the 1980"s and my dad was a petrol tanker driver like him and knew him as a quiet but nice man,my dad was in awe of him.

Harold Jarman for his dazzling runs and deadly strikes. Alfie biggs for his heading skills and the best leader of the attack. Geoff Bradford was in the twilight of his career in 1962 when I first saw him but his reputation was immense. Was he the equivalent of Jarman and Biggs combined? Anyone who saw him during the 1950's have a view on this?

Best player ever? Has to be Warren Beatty. Woody Allan once said if he could be reincarnated, he would want to return as Warren Beatty's middle finger !

Easily Stéphane Léoni, my favourite ever French player. It's a shame he never got off the bench in the Euro 2000 final.

It's got to be smash & grab for me, I was only a kid then but what a pairing! I watched the Brighton v Rovers 8 - 2 a couple of days ago, cracking watching Cloughie's face on the bench and little Nigel laughing his head off. The teds front line in the smash & grab days were called slash & crap weren't they?

I'd have to say Hayles, Vitas, Walters and Jamie Shore are probably the best of the players I've seen.

Geoff Bradford has ro be the best overall. Never saw him in League though so I'll go for Harold or even Stuart Taylor for their sheer length of service. But as Marshfield said, Smash and Grab for excitement and that season in 73/74 when they created a legend that will never die. UTG!
