Bristol Rovers are running out of time to back Darrell Clarke in this transfer window With Rovers' upturn in form, the play-offs are not out of reach and Clarke must be able to entice players financially We're now just over a week away from deadline day and Bristol Rovers have still made just one new signing this month. With Billy Bodin heading to Preston North End, the squad size has actually remained the same. www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/bristol-rovers-running-out-time-1112011The squad size hasn't remained the same. I agree totally we had 100% control of Billy's contract So surly sh takes billy into the office & says ok billy we understand you would like to further you career & are not prepared to sign a new contract . Now this is what happens you are still under contract with brfc till july18. I will circulate that you want a move to a championship/premiership club & the best offer that suits both parties will be considered . We are always saying its overinflated in Jan got to pay double etc. So why didn't we get double plus !! Plus if we knew he was going to put a transfer request in then surly sh & dc had targets before ? What happen ended to DC's 3 lists ?? They are not singing off the same sheet ! That man (sh) blithers with not a clue as far as I can see . DC must be pulling his hair out I'm not saying billy wasn't going but it's the way we handle it. You have no idea if any of that is true. One thing that is true is that it was Bodin who was in charge of the situation, not us. We had a decision to make. Force him to see out his contract and lose him for nothing or cut our losses and get what we could from a deal that suited all parties. You don't sell you best asset to the first bidder The only parties that this suits is billy & Pne because the reported money there or there abouts is not going to replace his talent

I think everyone's got a fair idea about this. It's about getting the MAXIMUM value for players when we have to sell them. Taylor's 300 K deal was unfortunate but a Sh*t outcome for us. Now Bodin has gone at the start of the window (??) - for around 400 - 500 K - why no bidding war ?? I would like to think most Rovers fans would think he's worth twice that ! maybe I'm wrong. We all know cash is tight so why didn't the club wait a few weeks to get more ? Hamer admitted 3 clubs had bid/enquired about him - so I'm very surprised he left on the second day of the window, aren't you ? My conclusion, is that DC was going to get pretty much sod all, but now with the quick sale of Bodin , he's going to get some of it - pretty depressing really - same old Rovers !

We have to remember where we have come from and what these players have done, under the excellent guidance of Clarke and his team, to make themselves League 1 players. I am particularly proud of the following 10 players and am delighted that the club have chosen to back them. I still think there are gems to be found in non-league that can be real assets at this level. Still here from relegation to conference 2013/14 Lee Brown Tom Lockyer Ollie Clarke Ellis Harrison Signed from a non-league club immediately before or during the Conference season 2014/15 Daniel Leadbitter Stuart Sinclair Signed from a non-league club since we regained our league status: James Clarke Tom Broadbent Joe Partington Rollin Menayese I think everyone's got a fair idea about this. The £650k figure was in regards to transfer fees. Fair enough but then think about how much it costs us to have Smith, Slocombe, Sercombe, Telford, Sweeney on our books. All for a 300k return on Taylor? Then think about what we must have offered DC to sign a 5 year deal. Where's all this coming from? It sure as hell isn't from fortnightly gate receipts. Don't quite agree with that surly that's also paid for from letting Easter/Montano/Hartley/mcCrystal etc leave
have we brought in more than we have let go I'm not sure we have
may be quality over quantity

Just doing some calculations checking on tickets available for the new games of the season the Fleetwood & Oldham games both have 4792 Matchday tickets on sell
So 4792 + 500 corporate/hospitality + 1100 away tickets = 6392 - 12300 capacity = 5908 approx. season tickets sold. Pretty good UTG

Yes of course but i couldnt help but notice that the promoted teams and southend who just missed out each had a few players who have played a significant amount of games at the higher level at i think it played a big part in there success. Only easter i believe had played more than 40 championship games in our team[lawrence arrived to late age wise so havnt included him]? Yep, just Easter. A few players with decent experience of a higher level can only help, just as long as they still have the hunger. It's about getting the balance right. What about linesy ??

"The goalkeeper had come forward now the goal is empty and as Igoe breaks the goal is empty ... if he slides it ... Sammy Igoe ... is he going to settle it? He has done! Bristol Rovers are going to be promoted to League One!" My how my life has changed in that decade. I eventually got my breath back after sucking the ball into the net

I've been a loyal Gashead for over 30 years but never been a season ticket holder and decided next season was the season I was going to purchase one
with the roller coaster ride of being a rovers supporter I felt that in all the years that now we have the financials & infrastructure to progress
in previous years we've enjoyed our ups and not so much downs but when we are on our ups you always felt the team/players/manager etc. would be dismantled for the inevitable to happen & drop back down
But now with all that's going on around the club I feel we are going to keep building & moving forward
most of the squad apart from the obvious are happy to stay. I know players can be fickle but we must be offering competitive contracts
and for DC legend already turned down the chance to go to Leeds to stay & build
IMO this is the best time to be a Gashead in my time and long may it continue
I ordered mine on the last offer day & I asked how many were sold I was told just under 5000 with a lot of existing season holders to still renew about 2000?
so hopefully could be a bumper season all round UTG
