Funny thing is we had 13 players who did very well or quite well but we have a thread on the one player who was poor. Not worth a thread imo. Actually I thought Bennett was terrible too, so that’s two players 😉 How Bennett is starting over Matthews is beyond me! He’s starting to become a watered down version of Bodin, in as much as, when Rovers are doing well, Bennett (Bodin) played well, but when you need to dig deep and support, they may as well be at home! On the plus side though, I thought everyone else has a very solid game, Kelly again nailing down his LB position (which by the sounds of it will rapidly disappear once THD is finally fit) Locks actually played ok, and Stuey showed every player how much effort they need to give!

Sam Matthews has a low centre of gravity, as did about 90% of our team yesterday, probably why we won 😂

If M is who I think he is then he has been a long time poster and hasn't always been so down on the club. don’t worry I’ll do it for you! I need to do some soul searching I think! I care too much about rovers and need to step back! I think you’re right, see you soon 👍🏼

Just delete ‘M’s account! The poster needs help! Is clearly someone who only supports the team in the good times and not the bad! Beyond boring now!

What does he say at 2:20? i have no sound on my PC? Everybody that's getting paid by Bristol Rovers should be pulling for the club. That's all I ever asked for, all I ever wanted, is to make sure that we're all pulling in the right direction. I don't think that's the case at the football club as it stands at the minute but that's for other people to discuss. On the footballing side I know we have a close-knit group... (Can't believe the interviewer didn't follow-up on that.) The level of meltdown over this comment has been blown massively out of proportion I reckon! It’s not like he sat there and berrarated the club is it! There now seems to be a growing contingent that actually want DC out, the inpatients of fans nowadays is unreal! We fast tracked back to L1, no doubt there was a predicted progression level for us getting back, and lucky we grabbed our VIP ticket and went straight to the front, the downside (IMO) is that we had conference and L2 players in L1, and it’ll take time to replace those players while obviously losing our better players and replacing those along the way. We’ve had it good for about 4yrs now, and we were all happy to support the team while on a crest of a wave, now that wave has made it shore, we’re not prepared to get back out and ride the next one? Odd that...

Taken from Twitter!
Gasheads Love DC when we get back to back promotions, love him when we get 2 creditable Mid Table finishes in League One and pray for him show loyalty . However after having had to sell our 3 best players we get off to a poor start and some want him out #LoyaltyGoesBothWays #Utg
Maybe those that haven’t been on since 2014 should log back off and delete their account! Absolute belters!

Thanks Langford! Gas Go Marching In / knowall are either of you able to answer any of the above? Does anyone know about the potential planning on the Mem? Oh I'm sorry but how on earth has GGMI become the font of all knowledge having people hanging on his every word! There are some sick fuckers on here today!
Sorry Weezord, could you help out in that case please? (Ignoring the planning bit as Topper answered that) I thought GGMI was saying earlier in this thread that he has also heard bits, so was wondering if he could help, along with Knowall. Tbf, it’s open to anyone with knowledge, but going by the utter sh**e on here and wind ups/people fishing, I thought I’d just ask people direct.

This may well be in this thread, but frankly I couldn't be bothered to read 28 pages of jibes, wind ups and potential information. My main concern with UWE, is that it was widely speculated that NH was sending us to another Coventry grave, so...what are the revenue splits going to be? Has this been sorted? The fact that Al Qadi's gave them kick up the ass, have they changed their mind on this at all? Or...like you said (in your opinon) could UWE be involved in some capacity? To me this appears a bit rushed, but it could be because more ITK's have come forward, do you know how long this has been going on for? I heard yesterday that someone found planning for houses on the Mem, is this true? I can't appear to find anything on BCC, unless it's a renewal of course. I need to say I am not ITK I just got sick of rumours and when they started again I made it my business to go and ask relevant people the questions, its surprising what people will tell you verbally that they would not wish to put into print ! As for how long it has been going on for I genuinely have no idea other than about 3 or 4 games in from the end of last season a Share Holder told me that UWE were practically knocking the door down to get talks started, again, who knows if that is true or even if it is there is no guarantee the talks took place. But again I repeat for the benefit of others the person who told me the latest info on Saturday is rock solid genuine and i'm pretty sure everyone would agree he could be trusted ,if they knew who he was. Thanks Langford! Gas Go Marching In/ knowall are either of you able to answer any of the above? Does anyone know about the potential planning on the Mem?

No one seems to know who the new people are. Any guesses? Hugo I was told something to do with a commercial not domestic construction company based in Southampton,DC was apparently told last week, the UWE will be a 125 year lease and the Mem will be sold to cover the debts. Alledgedly Hani wants his money back pronto. The point is. like everyone else on here I'm fed up with false dawns and don't post on these matters, other than to fish on the original post in this thread, However, as i have said earlier, the source yesterday is impeccable and if he is wrong I will lose what remaining faith I have in human nature ! Thats not to say he knows all the finer details of the deal, or whether new owners wlll be better or worse than anyone we have ever had. For me the writing was on the wall when nothing happened with the colony, esp with our current arrangement ending in the very near future, in fiscal term relatively small beer compared to building a stadium etc yet for owners who were in it for the long term and "funding isn't a problem" they stalled and came up with excuse after excuse and then silence. UWE have obtained planning and gone on to almost complete the build of hillside gardens within a few months Purely my opinion, but based on rumours I had previously heard from other sources Wael wanted the interview with 20man because i believe he thought he would have some news ,but he jumped the gun. I have heard it said that the sticking point was that he wanted to keep 10% shares but allegedly UWE don't want any of the family involved. Which if true would suggest that UWE might have an interest of involvement in the club as a major shareholder. I firmly believe that if Wael was in possession of a vast fortune he would have pursued his dream with enthusiasm, sadly he is not and just one voice amongst others that don't have the same passion. But I do not doubt his sincerity when it comes to his feelings for our club. Also interesting BOX 1 was packed with the old guard yesterday BUT the last para is my personal opinion and pure speculation on my partThis may well be in this thread, but frankly I couldn't be bothered to read 28 pages of jibes, wind ups and potential information. I think it’ll be pretty decent if it’s at Filton, the Brab Hanger is huge, it’ll be like our version of the O2 and hopefully that’ll mean a multifunctional arena. One thing this area has been crying out for is a decent arena to attract things like boxing/UFC etc, I think there is a massive pool of talent being wasted in the West Country because there isn’t anywhere to hold such events. It’s not just about getting Adele and Michael McIntyre here. I think the transport argument is null and void, as apparently the funding will go towards the infrastructure, the roads down to the M32 are better at Filton than in Town, with the added route of going up by the Mall and getting on the M5. The Mall is also going to be expanded let’s not forget. I know Bristol would benefit an arena, and honestly there’s no reason both couldn’t be done, Birmingham has more than one place, as does London and other cities. Like others have said, I wouldn’t mind betting we’ve had talks with YTL about land, I know housing associations have already had talks with YTL so no doubt other CEO’s have. You say the roads are better from the M32, having spent the last 15 years experiencing the traffic mayhem one incident can have in the area. I will poo-poo you on that one; From the M5 can also be a complete mare Yeah but the same could be said for the centre of Town, one crash on the M32/M4/M5 crossover and the whole place is shafted. All roads are bad if there's been a crash on it, plus all roads are bad after a football match/Arena performance. The O2 is a nightmare if you aren't tubing it, and not everyone would have got a train/walked/rode to the Arena if it was built by Temple Meads.

Should have been where I was sat in the Dribuild last night where a few mouths behind me were shouting abuse at Nichols all game. Idiots. Tell 'em to buy a sausage roll next time! That'll shut them up, and we then get money towards a budget!

Largely agree however, Jakubiak looked a bigger goal threat in the time he was on. Have to disagree, yes Jakubiak had 1 very decent chance, but so did Tom in the second half when he was literally in an identical position and placed the ball literally an indentical place in the goal, and the keeper pulled off two great saves. Tom also threaded Sercs a lovely throughball in the first half, but Sercs did some flick and it went over. Tom also very nearly won us a pen when he was pulled down on the edge of the box. One thing Tom can't do, is grow over a foot or jump about 3 times his height for when our CB's send pointless lofted balls to him! I thought Nichols played really well last night, and DC has a very good option in Jakubiak (who also won zero headers that were lumped up to him...)

Didn't realise how fast JC was, there was a break in the second half, where he caught and flew past Bennett.
You can also see that the goal last weekend has given him confidence, I know he was a LB, but it also meant he can cut inside and try a shot or two.
I think his frame is all wrong mind, but it appears to work and he's a top lad!
Wouldn't mind seeing JC at CB, then again I wouldn't mind Broadbent playing there, seeming as he can head and is over 5ft tall...

Is it all about doing quick flips, or are there any players out there for long term investment?
I have about £150 in and making a profit so far of £20, but I have to be honest, not a scooby what's going on lol.

Something I’ve noticed the last two years, some of the midfield (inc Linsey) can’t seem to put the ball in front of a player for them to run onto! Time and again last season the ball was behind or at them, so had to check or stop their run. I think Nichols could score 40 in a season, and some on here would say he’s sh** and want him out! Kid can’t do any right! We’ve not had a 20+ goal scorer since Taylor, yet we lorded Gaffers and Harrison as they try hard, Nichols does it and he’s sh**! The double standards on here by some absolute belters is unbelievable. And as for some on Twitter! f**k me! Just get off social media! Let’s try and get behind the team and players, it’s only game 1, 90% or didn’t expect a win today anyway! Rant over! Carry on! I think Gaffney was "lorded" exactly because he was the only bugger who could cope reasonably well with the less than optimal balls from the midfield tbf. Regarding the inc Lines bit, I went today and he had a shocker. Probably one of the most overrated players I have seen in my time watching Rovers and had he been from, say Scotland, I doubt he would be held in such high esteem. Lines was one of the squad that I wouldn’t have minded if he hung his boots up/moved on to someone like Exeter/FGR etc, I don’t think we’ll see him week in week out, and for me that’s not a bad thing. He came to us when we were in the gutter and he helped dragged us forward a number of times in our journey back to L1, but I think change is coming and he could well be next.
