Nope!DC states he 's no longer fan of loan system, and prefers bringing on our own youngsters, proved by giving a few tasters of first team action this year , i for one am very exited about our development squad as more and more seem to be knocking at the first teams door and it looks like they will be given every chance to progress , if they can see a pathway is open to them it will only inspire them to redouble there efforts and i believe this will lead to a great future for Rovers , home grown is always best, and i believe its the most important part of our the 'evolution, not revolution' template the club has initiated, who knows we may even end up with our own'class of 92' and we all know where that led!The best part of it ? the whole coaching staff seem to be on board with the project ,so be patient! great things are round the corner! up the Rovers!

We have players in the development side and out on loan who score regularly. I'd rather we gave them the chance , not someone who belongs elsewhere. The suggestion to sign him was made back in June.

What i dont get is why he hasnt played more games for sheff wed? They have had a massive injury list and a string of dreadful results! Contract dispute. Despite not playing for Wednesday (only 2 apps this season for U23's) he has continued playing for the England U19's where his overall record is 3 goals in 6 apps. He also has 4 goals in 5 apps for the U20's.

Fair enough, but this suggestion was made back in June. Well, we all know how DC changes on a daily basis

Now they’ve told him he’s not getting it he wants to move to a bigger club.

Now they’ve told him he’s not getting it he wants to move to a bigger club. I've heard from a reliable source the 20k figure isn't true, but as is confirmed below, was "requesting the basic salary of an established first team player." The official line from the club is this: "We wished to open discussions on a new, longer term contract prior to the transfer window in January 2017. Our offer broke our current salary structure for the Development Squad on a level never previously matched. We have policies in place to ensure continuity throughout the squad and fairness to all players at pre-first team level." “The reason we broke our structure was based on appreciation of the promising signs that George was showing and in recognition of his hard work and achievements for the Under-23s and England team at youth level. “Our policy is based on basic salary but as with all development players is enhanced with bonuses subject to the player participating in first team matches. “Our offer to George was declined by the player’s advisors and when we asked them to submit a proposal to us, we found they were requesting the basic salary of an established first team player at our club, plus completely unrealistic bonuses, clauses and add-ons." Ive pointed it out several times, but this suggestion was made back in June, before we signed several players on loan.

This is a bit suspect to say the least. The lad Hirst has now move on to Belgium with OH Leuven, playing under former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson, but there appears to be a plot afoot involving Leicester. OH Leuven are a sister club of the Foxes, and The Mirror report that Hirst will eventually join Leicester, potentially even as soon as January, with Claude Puel's men seemingly set to leave Wednesday fuming. Had Hirst moved directly to the King Power Stadium, Leicester would have been forced to pay a huge compensation fee to sign the striker at the end of his contract. Yet by first moving to Belgium, OH Leuven only have to pay minimal compensation due to him signing for a non-English club, yet his final destination will still be Leicester – and the sequence of moves will leave Wednesday out of pocket. www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/07/22/report-states-leicesters-plan-for-hirst-would-leave-sheffield-we/I know this is not really Rovers relevant, but I thought it was quite an interesting story.

IMO we now need at least 1 proven goal scorer currently we have no one who has regularly scored goals in the English first division.

Spurs done this with zeki fryers so they didn’t have to pay compensation to United a couple years back

Shocking if true.
The amount of money clubs like Leicester have as well!

Don't agree with it but if there are loopholes in the system, clubs will exploit them.

IMO we now need at least 1 proven goal scorer currently we have no one who has regularly scored goals in the English first division. What about Will Tubbs, our assistant manager? I know he’s 45 now but I reckon he could still do a job for us. 😂

that video sums up the youth of today.... he scores a decent enough goal and then runs off towards the corner flag to celebrate infront of an invisible stadium of fans consisting largely of bushes and brambles.... To be fair I do that when I score a Sunday League goal against an overweight keeper on a dogsh*t infested pitch whilst still struggling from the 8 pints of cider the night before!
