Bet we will have loans from Sheffield United and Middlesbrough as GC has spoken to his mates pulis and wilder recently. Stephen Walker from Middlesbrough would be good.

Sam Surridge from AFC Bournemouth? Scored today against Fulham and Bournemouth apparently want to loan him to League One for the second half of the season and somewhere down south. A nice height that would complement our attack at 6ft 3 and a goal tally of 11 in 17 for Oldham. Having seen him a couple of times, there’s no doubt for me that he could make the step up to L1. Same I really want to sign him but apparently he’s heading to oxford or something(read on twitter). Apparently they are expecting a loan striker and Karl Robinson watched the Oldham game today...

Also mentioned to a board member about George cooper and his possible availability. The response was, “thanks for the heads up. Tommy is aware”.

Some players I would add to this list are centre back Lloyd Jones (Luton), central midfielders Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Billy Gilmour (Chelsea), winger Mikey Johnston (Celtic) and strikers Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Tyreece John-Jules (Arsenal), Bobby Duncan (Liverpool), Paul Glatzel (Liverpool) and Ellis Simms (Everton). Edit: Brendan Rodgers says Johnston won't be going out on loan, so forget him.

I see Greg Wylde seems to be out of favour at Plymouth.Possibility of Cocko bringing him here through the Plymouth connection? Tore our defence a new one a couple of seasons ago with pace to burn.He might just be injured mind. Not saying you’re wrong but istr 2 years ago he was substituted at half time playing for Northampton when they were 4-1 down! The match Ellis scored 4 goals. Think he went back to Argyle soon after. Would he better than what we’ve got in midfield? UTG!

Probably 3 seasons ago then, the 1-1 game I think.I thought he was more of a touch line hugging winger rather than a midfielder and could make us a huge threat down the left in tandem with THD.Sounds like he may have shot his bolt if he’s being loaned out!

Fair enough. Now that GC has the job perhaps we’ll see a bit of transfer activity. Secure Bonham as a keeper for the season and a forward or two and I’ll be happy. Sure there’s others who will disagree and want more, perhaps a midfielder but being realistic I’m not sure we will see much esp if it’s a question of one in one has to go out. UTG!

Another player I like that might be worth considering on loan if possible is the 19-year-old 6ft 1in striker Marcus Forss at Brentford. He scored 21 goals for the B team and won the B team's Player of the Year award for 17/18. A Finland U21 international, he has 9 goals from 16 appearances at various age levels.

I'd also enquire about getting a loan for Newcastle's Elias Sørensen. Scored 19 goals already for Newcastle U21's in the Premier League B and just signed a new three year deal. Has kept on getting better and better as the season has progressed. Newcastle really rate him highly.

Michael McCrudden from Northern Irish side Institute? Named player of the month in August and December having scored 18 goals in 23 games so far in the league. His contract is up in the summer and he has indicated he is willing to listen to offers in January. Could be worth taking a risk on? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46584428

A couple of defensive suggestions for January: Oldham's 21 year centre back George Edmundson could give us more options in defence, he's been an ever-present in Oldham's backline this season and has attracted interest from Scunthorpe, Wigan, Preston, Fleetwood and Peterborough with Scunthorpe having a 200k bid rejected just recently. Saw him when he was on loan at AFC Flyde a season or two ago and I thought he looked a good prospect back then, 6ft3 too. “Scunthorpe United have had a bid of around £200,000 turned down by Oldham for their highly rated centre half George Edmundson, Sky Sports News has learned.” Wigan, Fleetwood, Peterborough and Preston are all interested in the six foot three inch 21-year old central defender, who has played in all 26 of their league games this season.” Another towering, young defender that could add to us is 23 year old Harrison Mcgahey from Rochdale. He's made over 100 appearances for dale, who rate him highly, recently signed a new contract in the summer. Might be one to look at if we stay up and Rochdale go down but he looks a real prospect for sure. I think there's been some interest in him already this January. 6ft 5in Anel Ahmedhodzic at Nottingham Forest is another one. He is so comfortable on the ball he has also been moved into a defensive midfield position at times. Capped by Sweden at youth level.

I mentioned David Ajiboye at Worthing, but I reckon their 27-year-old 6ft 4in goalkeeper Lucas Covolan would be worth monitoring too when he recovers from injury. He is a former Brazil U20 international.
