A couple of defensive suggestions for January: Oldham's 21 year centre back George Edmundson could give us more options in defence, he's been an ever-present in Oldham's backline this season and has attracted interest from Scunthorpe, Wigan, Preston, Fleetwood and Peterborough with Scunthorpe having a 200k bid rejected just recently. Saw him when he was on loan at AFC Flyde a season or two ago and I thought he looked a good prospect back then, 6ft3 too. “Scunthorpe United have had a bid of around £200,000 turned down by Oldham for their highly rated centre half George Edmundson, Sky Sports News has learned.” Wigan, Fleetwood, Peterborough and Preston are all interested in the six foot three inch 21-year old central defender, who has played in all 26 of their league games this season.” Another towering, young defender that could add to us is 23 year old Harrison Mcgahey from Rochdale. He's made over 100 appearances for dale, who rate him highly, recently signed a new contract in the summer. Might be one to look at if we stay up and Rochdale go down but he looks a real prospect for sure. I think there's been some interest in him already this January. 6ft 5in Anel Ahmedhodzic at Nottingham Forest is another one. He is so comfortable on the ball he has also been moved into a defensive midfield position at times. Capped by Sweden at youth level. Yeovil Town defender Shaun Donnellan has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. An Irish under 21 international and would come fairly cheap. A good prospect to develop for the future perhaps?

Didn't really impress when he's played against us in the past and is another shorter one at 6ft. Another one that caught my eye this season is 6ft 3in Kyle Cameron at Torquay United and described by Gary Johnson as "a top player. He’s one of the best centre-halves that I’ve worked with. He’s got everything he needs to have a good career in the game.” Cameron is a left footer capped by Scotland at U21 level and would definitely be worth scouting.

Kyle Cameron was torn apart by our forwards when we demolished York City 4-1 on the penultimate day of the League 2 season. I remember thinking at the time York looked very weak defensively, might have progressed since then I suppose but seeing as he's been not too successful on loan at a few clubs and is playing in the national league south, I'm not so sure. I think he's just signed a new deal too so would cost us.

On the evidence of his displays in the centre this season he is definitely worth scouting.

I mentioned David Ajiboye at Worthing, but I reckon their 27-year-old 6ft 4in goalkeeper Lucas Covolan would be worth monitoring too when he recovers from injury. He is a former Brazil U20 international. Covolon does make some good saves and is very agile. I'd definitely invite him into the club for a trial and assess him further. Supporters Player of the Year at Worthing last season.

Harry Forrester is gash by the way Pirate hope your not a real scout if you think he is a good player or Natt Crooks Forrester is decent at this level and scored a wonder goal at our place and was probably the best player on the pitch. I like him, all about opinions. Crooks was class at Accrington, didn't work out at Rangers, did well at Scunthorpe and impressing again this season for Northampton in midfield with 5 goals from 15 games. Championship side Rotherham United have signed midfielder Matt Crooks from Northampton for an undisclosed fee.

A couple of 17-year-old players in non-league to keep an eye on. Sonny Dullaway is a winger at Hastings United who scored a couple of goals on trial at Aston Villa last season. Karol Wengrzik is a winger at Dereham Town. Formerly on the books of Norwich, he has also made a few appearances for the Poland U16's.

Worth making a cheeky bid for Bryn Morris at Shrewsbury? Portsmouth have signed midfielder Bryn Morris from Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee.

Pompey will go up. They would be going up even without their recent signings but imo they are spending on good players to guarantee going up as far as you can guarantee it. Whether these players will be good enough for the Championship will be a bridge they cross later. UTG!

Done deal. Even though he has stepped up 4 divisions, I expect him to do well. Joined Dundee on loan after scoring 1 goal in 20 appearances at Scunthorpe.

Crawley Town have made the first significant move in the fight to secure Gavin Whyte's signature this summer. Several cross-channel clubs have been impressed by the Crusaders winger's form this season but the League Two side are the only club who have made an offer to date. Town, who are managed by former Liverpool and Leeds United ace Harry Kewell, have made a sizeable verbal offer and appear keen to net the man from the Markets who has just scooped the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year prizes at the NI Football Awards. Former Linfield boss and Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney is Kewell's assistant and keeps a close eye on the Irish League's promising young talent. League One side Doncaster Rovers, managed by Sir Alex Ferguson's son Darren, and Championship outfit Leeds United are also understood to be interested but haven't made an offer yet. m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/irish-league/ballinamallard-united/crawley-fire-first-shot-in-battle-to-snap-up-whyte-36898965.html www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/league-one-footballer-caught-masturbating-2430821

I reckon Harvey Saunders at Darlington could be a name to keep an eye on. He's only 20 and has scored 5 goals from 9 starts (5 sub apps) for them this season. He's also previously trialled at Barnsley and caught the eye against Motherwell in pre season. Signed for Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee. One I tipped off Widdrington about a couple of months back.

I see there is already interest in Yeovil winger Wes McDonald with Bradford, Blackpool and Colchester among the clubs interested in him. Given our pursuit of former Yeovil winger Otis Khan last January, you would imagine he would be on our radar especially as he can leave for free in the new year. Known for his pace and ball control, I'd reckon he'd be a decent signing for us with lots of room to improve at only the age of 21. I know a lot of Yeovil fans that rate him highly. This guy has left Yeovil after being unable to agree an extension to his short term contract with the club. Highly rated and better than what we’ve already got in my opinion, could do worse than to get him in on a free transfer. Edit: Just seen that he’s out for the second part of the season with a hamstring injury, might be one for the summer.

A player I like in the National League North is Matty Warburton at Stockport County who can play as a centre forward, in a wider role in a three or as a ‘Number 10’. He joined County after scoring 13 goals in 16 appearances for Curzon Ashton and last season he scored 21 goals in 45 appearances to help fire County into the end-of-season Play Offs. Got 17 goals in all comps so far this season. Good technically, an eye for goal off both feet and a free kick specialist. Won the goal of the season award for County and had two others in the running 4 goals on Sat v Truro, including 2 good finishes with left foot Free kick v Yeovil

Is Ross Allan home yet? Carried on his amazing form in NZ This? Again??? Change the record dinsdale. But for your info AGAIN...After trialling for Newcastle as a youngster, scoring 239 goals in 226 games for Guernsey, turning down clubs in the National League, he moved to New Zealand, then signed for Team Wellington and helped them win the 2018 OFC Champions League (scoring 7 goals) and qualified for their first ever FIFA Club World Cup.
