Pboro were interested in Godden but rated at 1.5M. Pretty much rules us out of that rumor then. Godden £1.5m? The world has gone mad. Utter, Utter madness. I would be hesitant paying 250k for him. His game is pretty basic. 15 goals in open play in League Two equates to £1.5m now. Bonkers. Just think what Billy Bodin is worth in this mad transfer climate! Get him tied down on a longer deal asap. That's What managers do though, isn't it? They say a player isn't for sale or they will only sell him for silly money to try and ward of interest. DC said the same about Matty Taylor in January, "We wouldn't even sell him for £10M". We sold him a week later for £300k.

Looking at Ricky Miller - one good season and little else. Marcus Maddison looks a gem.Don't think he fits the DC mould. I'm sure I've heard before about him having a bad attitude, playing for himself etc. Maddison is a class act. 9 goals and 18 assists last season. Will go for over a million.

Fans talk sh**e, Rickie Lambert was a fat midfielder and Jason Roberts useless who couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo blah blah..like I said, fans talk sh**e sometimes.

He said in another tweet that there had been offers for "Shaq, James, Smith, Bostwick, Nicholson, Stevens", no mention of Nicholls. From that list only Coulthirst, James and Stevens are strikers and I'm sure he responded to someone asking about LJ that it wasn't him. So that would just leave Coulthirst and Stevens as the only options. Might be wrong but that's what I've picked up from his various tweets. UTG! He also said that it wasn't a transfer listed player. Going by my previous theory and the list below, that would only leave Stevens. www.theposh.com/news/2017/may/20170502-posh-announce-retained-list/Surely if Stevens is any good P'boro won't let him leave after just one season/one league game? On paper he now makes LJ look a decent signing!!

That's what I thought, totally underwhelmed by the strikers we are allegedly in for, and even they are ones we cant seem to get!

Firstly, we don't really know who we are going to sign yet so no need to panic. And secondly, reserve your judgement at least until they've worn the shirt. Most people were underwhelmed by the signings of Lumley and Sweeney before they played for us. UTG!

Nobody is panicking, just making observations on a rumour, I'm not really sure you can compare the 15/20 goals a season experienced striker we need to a young goalie/CF anyway.

Oh yes of course we will see what comes in and what they do in the quartered shirt, everyone should be given a chance, but apart from Taylor (who took a while to excel) DC doesn't seem to have an eye for a decent goalscorer.

Agree with this I think it is has probably been DC's only weakness so far....then again Cloughie was the same and he didn't do too badly.

I would say Taylor and (to a degree) Gaffers were successes, but then you have the likes of Wall, Goldberg, Cunnington, White, Blissett and James who are all easily forgotten.

Clough had Peter Taylor who was the man that basically identified the talent and then Cloughie would work his magic and knock them into shape. Gary Birtles from Long Eaton United springs to mind.

Plus it seems to be a bigger test this time for him given he's apparently been given a decent budget to work with this summer, although with MS to assist then surely they can identify a decent striker between them?

Nichols according to a journalist on Twitter from Peterborough has been bid for by us, by the sound of it they want rid of him!

Glad the bid was rejected if it was Nichols - and we don't go back for him. There has to better out there - hope we're not running out of options already and things are getting desperate on signing a striker. We still need at least two possibly three if EH doesn't sign.

Marcus has worked with him in the past, so will know him better than the experts on here, who are saying we can do better.
Still only 23, a similar age to Taylor was when we signed him and he has had a lot more success than Taylor did before we signed him. Experience at this level and is at the right age to be developed. Can do a lot worse as one of our options.
