Assuming he's now dropping down to Div 1 what other club can seriously outbid us in this division, particularly if he still lives in the Southampton area and wants a club within a 2 hour commute but won't consider Pompey?

Horrible thought. Pantsdown would pay him 25k a week just to water me off.

Don't think he's on DC's radar if you listen to Wael

To be honest he was great when he was here but his wage demands would be too much for us, and would create bad feeling amongst the other players, rather get Tom Nicholls who has his best years ahead of him. DC has signed quality and not quantity, all for that, why waste money on players who will not feature. Interested that he said he might get an under 21 international in on loan, exciting times ahead on this rollercoaster!

£25,000 per week equals £1.3 million per season or £56,522 per home game needed just to fund his wages.
At £20 per ticket, it takes 2826 fans per home game just to pay his wages.

Just because he was on 25k a week ( reportedly ) at Cardiff doesn't mean that he'll get the same elsewhere. He won't, he's been bombed out of a mid table championship side. His career is in a downward spiral. He wont get paid anywhere near 25k a week with his next club.

It seems that cardiff have paid up some of his contract which means they save money and he can sign for a new club without losing all of his years salary he would have got if he stayed. It means he wants to play football which is a good thing imo.

Lamberts deal to Plymouth is dead in the water apparently it wasn't even an option. I would love him at the gas but I think Blackburn will be his next destination.

A LINE may have finally been drawn under the week-long saga of Rickie Lambert's rumoured move to Plymouth Argyle. A source close to the player put an end to the speculation on Friday when they told Herald Sport there was nothing behind the talk of his Devon arrival. m.plymouthherald.co.uk/rickie-lambert-will-not-be-joining-plymouth-argyle/story-30429127-detail/story.html
