If those numbers are true that's the type of decision that totally disintegrates a wage structure and could lead to bad morale with other players. Equally he is better than anything we have at the moment ... would not give him £25k per week though that's crazy!!
We could sign Marquis and Madden and probably cover the wages of Lumley and Sweeney for that sum.

Obviously he'll either have to take a massive wage cut or Cardiff will have to pay him a percentage of his contract, although I can't imagine they'd be keen on that considering they paid a transfer fee for him just last year. There's no way on earth Plymouth can pay that sort of money, you could sign 5 quality League One players for that!

£25k is ridiculous money. Bare in mind we brought Sinclair in on about £700 pw initially, and even now he's probably still on about £2k. We made Taylor our top earner on what I'm guessing would be about £5k. We'd be talking like two thirds (if not all) of our budget on one player, who yes was superb for us, but is in his mid thirties. He's the exact opposite of everything DC is trying to build.
If he goes to Plymouth or Blackburn, good luck to him, but for me he's not worth that wage or financial gamble.

It's safe to assume if he he does go to a League One team they won't be paying him 25k a week on their own.

People will mention Easter but I reckon the fact the he wanted to stay near his home in Cardiff meant he limited his choices and we could probably get him without breaking our wage structure too much.

I also doubt Easter ever earned anything like the money Lambert has been on the last few seasons so not quite the same pay decrease as RL should be looking at.

No, not quite the same scale but as close a comparison as I can think of for us recently.

Yeah, I can't imagine Easter was on huge wages at Millwall. Definitely took a cut to come to us, but clearly was worth it for him to move closer to home.

Sinclair was on about £700 pw? Bloody hell, I've known southern league players to be paid more than that.

Totall, he's not worth 5 good strikers
