Can't find the other thread on him so here we go -
We wont be signing Luke James - he's gone to Forest Green Rovers on a 2 year deal. One a free as well.so much for rovers didn't offer enough I think the Peterborough chairman was talking about Nichols not James, they weren't too keen on a double deal. If Rovers had just bid for James, the chances are that he would be a Rovers player by now.

Good luck to James, I wish him well for the future , diddnt really work out here for him but I am certain he will find his form at some stage and release his potential as I think there is a player there somewhere. UTG Can't really agree with that, I'll take no pleasure in hearing he scores a single goal, he was abysmal for us, if he'd been half a player we'd of made the playoffs. Will be very disappointed if he does an Akinde.

It wouldn't surprise me if he does score a few as he's dropped down a league.

One a free as well.so much for rovers didn't offer enough If we had offered to match it, it would still have been too much. It was a joint deal for him & Tom Nicholls, so obviously, they weren't happy with the money they were offering for Tom.

Whilst I am glad we didn't sign him (especially for a fee) I'm a bit disappointed. I think it's because he may score a few for them, not sure why I think that. Maybe it's the gashead in me, In essence I believe the only reason he will get goals there is because they are a local team. I refuse to call them rivals!

Each to their own I suppose but he was certainly not abysmal, I have all the time in the world for players that give their all for the club which James did , but I also know that forwards are judged on goals. I'm not saying we should of signed him as I think we need better, but I stand by my opinion that he is and will become better , especially at a lower level.

Good luck to him. He always gave 100% and worked hard, so I wish him well.

He could easily score 15+ goals at that level.
All the best to him. Can't fault his effort.

UTG 100% correct. And in the matches I saw he never tried to hide or disappear, nor could you criticise his level of effort. Good luck to him I hope he does well. We move on. Who will we sign now? 🤔 UTG!

I'm not really sure why we praise players for putting in 100% effort.
Shouldn't that be an absolute minimum requirement anyway?

Wonder if FGR will let Christian Doidge move now ? Maybe we agreed to leave James to them if they agreed to let us have Doidge for a price that matched their valuation

Wonder if FGR will let Christian Doidge move now ? If he does then I doubt Luke James signing will be much relevance as they are completely different types of strikers.

Wonder if FGR will let Christian Doidge move now ? Would DC still want him after he turned us down previously?
