I am constantly blown away by some of the comments on here. After over 3 decades of supporting rovers i feel these are the best of times. And yet there are constant moans and excessive negativity, ranging from stadium, fun days, timing of signings, kit availability, etc
The short termism of some of my fellow supporters is very frustrating.
It seems so apparent to me that the evolution is happening, our manager has a clear direction for the footballing side of the club - a 5 year contract, the quality of staff on recent interviews, the structuring of a philosophy that will run through all the age groups is all evidence of foundations being laid for success. The training ground purchase and proposals support the sensible direction our club is being taken on under the stewardship of an eminently sensible and likeable owner. I'm sure a stadium (of some sort) will come to pass or all the rest will prove pointless.
The bigger picture is great as far as I'm concerned. Sit back and enjoy is my philosophy. There will be mistakes made, bad decisions and sh** days BUT relative to the last 30 years i have more faith than ever. I'm sure DC and Wael have it in hand. I think rather than the hope i have always has i now have belief.
And in terms of the transfer activity, i think the time to judge is 1st September. I'm impressed with the 4 so far (on paper) and have no doubt there will be more in the next few weeks.

Yes agreed on the footballing side, but with regards to the stadium ( more hope than belief).

If it gets any better than it is now, we'll have to knock down the David Williams, Gerry Francis & Paul Trollope statues!!! 😀

That after an almighty dip, we are back at our natural level with our own ground? You are going to be a very hard man to please if the only time you're happy is when the club is stronger than it has ever been! And even then, you probably won't be happy for very long

I've been a gashead for 30 years. In those 30 years we have only finished above 10th in League 1 on 10 occasions. For my first 9 years of supporting the Gas we played in a different city. For my first 11 years of supporting the Gas we didn't own our own ground. Given that we reached our nadir just 3 years ago it is a remarkable turnaround in fortunes under Clarke. I am happy with where we are and optimistic about our future to build on that.

Football fans demand more...shocker! Get used to it , it's the way of the footballing world. However successful we are there will always be a percentage of the fan base demanding more. Some will be realistic. It's footy.
Enjoy :-)

Yes of course, but the pace of progress feels good tbh and I want to savour the journey of evolution and for it to be sustainable not boom then bust. I believe we are in very safe hands with Wael and DC. I am pleased with the signings made so far (youth as well as senior) and look forward to seeing who else will be joining us for the new season. Keep the faith peeps. UTG!

We just come at it from different angles and express ourselves in different ways. As it should be. We wouldn't have a forum without that.

The first step towards disappointment.

Improving our league position for 3 seasons on the trot is hugely impressive. I don't see what there is to moan about. Can people really slag off our club? Appears so. Stadium issue will be resolved 1 way or the other very soon. If we end up at the uwe fantastic. If we don't then also fantastic. It means we won't be taken for mugs. We have a new all in training base on the horizon. Something we've never had. But apparently our new owners who have not been here a year and a half yet are not doing enough. Gas head for over 25 years and it's never been better for me. We have structure, plans, modern day staff. How many coaches did we have when we were non league? The only negative is the banning of song titles on this god dam forum

Agree re the team etc. But don't say anything about patience regarding the ground. WE are world Chuffing champions at patience in that regard.

It was amusing for a while but in the end it was ”OP, 12 songs, thread dead”. Not really condusive to a forum.

But perhaps you need to show some patience - DC wants to make a go of it this season so let's see who he gets by the time the transfer window closes. I'm hoping for Nichols, Sweeney and an exciting left -midfielder - then we'll be in business. and hopefully Bodin staying with us. UTG !

I've never been blown away by negativity on a football forum. It's a night out in the Westend and dinner usually.
