I have only ever been to charlton once and that was by car. This time I'm staying in central London for the weekend and was planning on going by tube to the ground. But it seems to be a 30 min walk from the station to the ground. Which is the best way to get there? Underdown or overground which has a station near the ground but where do you get on it. Anyone done this journey before. Cheers. UTG

There is an overground station about a 5 minute walk from the ground.
Don't ask me which one and how to get there as I was in a state last time I was there!

Charlton station.
You should be able to get there from London Bridge or Charing Cross national rail stations
It's not on the 'London Overground' though which shows on tube maps

Get a Southeastern train from Charing Cross/London Bridge or Cannon Street to Charlton Station, runs every 30 minutes. Use a contactless card on the Oyster card reader at the ticket barrier and it's £2.60 each way.

So a bus to Parkway then a train to London, underground to CC/LB, then another train to Charlton, no wonder people try and avoid public transport!
