Evolution!! Not if you are a Jehovah's witness or that tom cruise lot. But we are so evolved we can understand what we are eating and make decisions. You have to be pretty highly evolved to understand what goes into some of the pies we get on a saturday afternoon. I'm with AF on this one - after my experiences with the Mem pasties last season, I am not sure what goes into them - but I am fairly certain that the meat content is minimal

Wonder if the UWE stadium will have wider turnstiles to accommodate hamburger-wolfing, cider-swigging middle aged men who look as though they're carrying triplets in the ninth month of pregancy? What, you haven't looked in the mirror recently? Isn't Hamburger-wolfing a team in the German 2nd tier?

Food is only as good or bad as what we associate it with. If Wael sold the guy's veggie burgers at the Mem we'd probably wolf(sburg) 'em down and beg for more.

All part of the PR though for his Ecotricity company, he probably sits down to a Sunday roast beef lunch like the rest of us, behind the closed doors at his mansion. Although I don't really get why he needs to force his principles on every body else. He isn't forcing his principles on others. He's just practicing what he preaches. Some very bitter people here. A suggestion; when FGR come to our ground (maybe in a cup) and the Directors sit down together, to eat, serve him up a nice juicy steak - tell him he can like it or lump it because nothing else is available! No, I hope we wouldn't be that rude or that pathetic. But that is exactly what he is doing to anyone who attends a game at FGR. It's wrong, within reason, not to give everyone an option, of their taste, at a public event where various sections of the community are likely to want to attend. Of course he is forcing his principals on others if they want to buy something to eat whilst at FGR and he's totally ignorant for doing so.

If he was to sell meat then it would be going againsy what he believes in? At least he's not a sheep.

Why is it when you go to dinner at a house where the host is a vegan you get served vegan food but when they go to a house which eats meat they expect to eat vegan food and be catered for separately? It's plain rude not to accept that people are different. Are you suggesting they should always have their own way and not respect other people's views? This is a football match where various people with various views and tastes will attend. Surely all, within reason, should be catered for whatever the owner’s views are? By his actions he is definitely imposing HIS view on everyone who wishes to attend a football match. It's a bit like the boy who gets in a huff and takes his ball away. Pretty pathetic really.

I think it's more pathetic the way you are making a fuss about it. He has no reason to cater for everybody. If people can't go 2 hours without eating then maybe they should see a doctor.

I think in 30 years of going to footie I've eaten less than a dozen times, I go for the footie and don't care less about the food

Going without eating is not the point I am making and is totally irrelevant to the discussion. It's the ignorance of someone not accepting that other people have alternative views and, if you own a business which caters to the public, it's actually their views which should count NOT your own. He is not in a business which is only trying to attract and cater for his vegan views. The product is a football match which people with various views wish to attend. Totally out of order not to cater for their views as well as his own. Nothing to do with his principals and everything to do with catering for the people he is hosting. The big person looks after and accepts other people’s views not their own, provided of course it is legal and to my knowledge eating meat is not illegal yet.

If his views are thay strong then I fully understand why he wouldn't sell non vegan products.

It's his ground, he can sit visiting fans where he likes and can serve whatever food he likes.
You don't have to go and you don't have to eat.
The food at the Mem is sh**e.

From the numbers who queue at the pastie huts & who eat around me at a game I would suggest it's not that bad, food in the boxes and in the function room under the Dribuild Stand has always been excellent when I have tried it. It's a football ground not a 3* Michelin establishment & I believe our offering is on a par with most others at our level.
