Apologises, if it has been mentioned on here before, but there is an evening with Mike Procter of Glos CC fame, inc a two course meal on Tuesday, I believe. Might be of interest to fans of cricket.
He was quite a bit before my time, but good to see the Mem being used on non match days to bring in extra revenue.

The greatest all rounder that I had the pleasure of watching. Apartheid put paid to what would have been a glittering test career. He came over to Britain with Barry Richards another brilliant South African cricketeer. And played with my favourite batsman of all time Zaheer Abbass

MP was my hero growing up , brilliant cricketer. Used to watch Gloucestershire a lot in those days and remember getting Sadiq Mohammed and Zaheers autographs .. still have them in the loft somewhere!

What a side Gloucestershire had then. Zaheer was an artist, stroking the ball to all corners of the ground with no effort whatsoever, timing was his middle name. Would not argue about your assessment of MP, definately one of the greatest all rounders of all time.

I believe that Zed is still the only batsman to score a single hundred and a double hundred in each innings of a match on four occasions. To my recollection he was also not out in those 8 innings as well. His 274 against England at Edgbaston was one of the great knocks of all time. Hard to believe he is now 70 years of age. A true legend.

If people are unable to attend for the meal earlier in the evening, they can pay a £5 donation to Mike Procter's Foundation and take part in the Q&A and these rest of the evening from 7.30ish onwards.
A flyer at the Stadium today said to contact roger.cooper@bristolroverspresidentsclub.com or call him on 07767 643 600 (print on the photocopy was v small but think I have got the details correctly.

It's 40 years ago since that Gillette semi final against Hampshire. When Proccy ripped the heart out of the south coast team. I think it was 6-17 including Greenidge Richards Jesty and Rice. Something like 4 wickets in 5 balls
