Thanks for the memory mate. I remember Gloss making less than 200 in their innings and thinking that the Hampshire openers would probably make that amount on their own. But with Proccy bowling like that, the top order was demolished. Also remember watching him in a single wicket match against Sir Ian Botham, I think it was at the Imperial ground in Knowle. Wonderful memories of a great time for Gloucestershire cricket.

I used to go to the Somerset Festival at the Imperial Ground. Dennis Silk, I think , was the captain in those days. Fond memories also of the Knowle Sixes at the Knowle CC. Strong teams from Rovers, City, Rugby. Talking to Joe Davies on Saturday he said that Bert Tann, after a poor performance, would tell the team they were a better cricket team than a football team!

Saw Proctor at Taunton many times and I'm sure that many batsmen were confused at his action. Bowled off the wrong foot and the batsmen were in two minds until they looked at their stumps all over the place! In those days if Gloucs had been able to keep Barry Richards they would have had an even better side.

I always thought Proctor was a bit clueless to be honest. Many batsmen who faced him definitely were. It's 40 years ago since that Gillette semi final against Hampshire. When Proccy ripped the heart out of the south coast team. I think it was 6-17 including Greenidge Richards Jesty and Rice. Something like 4 wickets in 5 balls Clueless
