Did anyone else think that the pich was narrower on Saturday? From the East Terrace it appeared to have shrunk by around a yard/metre. Was it the same from the West side? Some of the guys also thought it was a little shorter, although I'm not sure. Hardly suits the playing of wingers/wing backs and the 'expansive' football that D.C. claims to like playing? I did think that the pitch was definitely 'flatter' and they had got rid of the slope down to the bottom end. I was also impressed with the new sprinkler system, although not with the guy who covered them over after with a clod of earth/grass and flattened them with a size 13!!

It looked narrower and shorter to me yesterday, but my memory isn't the best!

It's narrower on the one side, yes. That must be Monty's side, that now explains why DC released him

I was there Saturday and thought the pitch looked rough around the edges eg....( only how the pitch grass was cut) but clearly its the best and most professional pitch we have ever had at the Mem.And the past 3 seasons our pitches have been amazing since bristol left to join pantsdownthetoilet empire.
To spend £100k on a short term gain is a clear sign of intent by our board regardless of what some dickholes may say.

I did hear there were issues with the company who laid it and also it was flooding badly around those sprinklers, it is not in its perfect state, we should be happy our first game is away. The pitch is not ready, hence the yeovile game being switched. UTG

Seems strange if the pitch dimensions have been changed after our brilliant home form last season?

It's a cunning plan and now they've been rumbled! The pitch is being slowly reduced season by seasons so that new stands can built bigger to achieve a 20k capacity at the Mem. This spells doom for the UWE! 😤

If anything DC prefers playing without out and out wingers. He seems to prefer players that cut in on the oppsotie foot,Bodin, Monkhouse in the past, Gosling etc

I'm sure it's for obvious reasons, but the grass looked fecking long against WBA.....hoping its much shorter for the first home game.
I know DC had a moan last season about the length of the grass after one game, nothing worse than a spongey pitch with long grass where you can't get slick passing going, get tired of watching games at Wembley for that precise reason
