P.S second division Spanish football is equal to if not worse than L1. Look at some of the budgets those teams operate on if you think we are skint..... The quality is actually probably higher, we got out played by third tier Sabadell not so long ago. Not sure about budgets though, the average Spanish second tier attendance last season was 7,477. I'm not surprised on attendance, have you been to games on the continent. Its around 23p per ticket, kids get in free. Talking of which didn't Sh*tty just stuff a 2nd tier 6-0?

I'd still like Wheeler personally but yes, I realise he has played mainly on the right up till now. However, there's no reason he can't perform well down the left cutting in on his favoured right foot like Bodin does on the other side. I know he would probably cost 300k - 500k but given his record I'd say it would be money well spent. We lack goals and he scored 22 for Exeter last season. We lack players who are good in the air, Wheeler is excellent. Should - heaven forbid - Bodin get injured we'd have a ready made replacement. He's 26 so the next few years should be the best of his career. Exeter would be open to offers as he has less than a year left on his contract. He apparently lives in Bristol so the location would be perfect. He's currently at a smallish club on L2 wages so we'd no doubt be able to offer him a better deal. You could pay Carlos De Pena 5k a week for two seasons for that transfer fee. and save all the wage costs of your man. Maybe, but Wheeler has excelled in L2 scoring 20+ goals last season and is proven in England playing 149 league games over the past 4 years. De Pena has been at Mboro for 2 years and made 6 appearances. He's not proven in England and lower league football may not suit him. It would be a risk. Not saying I'm dead against it, just that he's not guaranteed to be a success. Personally I believe Wheeler would be a safer bet.

Wow. Basing a team's quality on their attendance. What a great measurement of their quality! I'm basing the quality on what I've seen actually, not the attendance, that was more in reference to budgets/matchday income.

The average ticket for a Real Oviedo match is between €15 and €25. The sh** beat a fourth tier side apparently.

Blimey, Lose one game & all of a sudden Bodin in average and we are looking down & out, that's how I read this. Can you not calm down a little and see what DC does when he has his preferred players available please ? DC said he was in a bad place with both his first choice right backs not available and although I may not agree with how he set up, we have always been notoriously slow starters so hold your horses for a bit yet. Where on earth have I said Bodin is average? What I said was Bodin was our only proven good league one player. Moore is average at best and Broom is young and wouldn't want to throw him in at the deep end. Most people are in agreement we need another winger. If we had Bodin and another quality winger the oher side with Moore and Broom as backup then I would be happy. Fair comment GGMI & I apologise. I must have misread your post. Personally I think getting rid of Montano was a mistake and I guess we will never know the story behind it. God, I feel done right in. Please accept my apologies for the mix up fella

I think Montano was alright. I wouldn't have kept him and Moore though and seeing as it was Monty out of contract so it was easier to let him go. I guess we won't be sble to answer that properly until we know i we replace him with.

"There comes a time doesn't there?" said Clarke about the clubs need to invest on the pitch. "That time is now," he added. "We need to kick on with the footballing side of things. If we want to stand still for the next three or four years that's fine. We can build the infrastructure in the background but fans will get frustrated and I'll get frustrated, because we want that drive. "I've been here three years and we've made a lot money from transfers. We've just finished 10th in League One, we've got to kick on." With Rovers in the market for a whole raft of new players this summer, Clarke was under no illusions as to how players heads are turned these days. "Players will go where the money goes. If a player gets offered £500 a week extra somewhere else, he's going somewhere else. "You can't stand still when it comes to recruitment and as always in recruiting players - money talks. If you want the best players to play you've got to pay, the budgets now are big." Time to get the cheque book out Wael. That defensive midfielder DC previously mentioned and a winger and striker are needed.

Same with me, we need to get three quality players in without spending beyond our means.

Yes nothing has changed. defensive midfield ,target man and left winger were required at the end of last season and still are.

Will we get anyone in before the Bury match?
Weve had all summer and I can't believe we haven't signed a left winger yet.

Apparently they only paid Bradford £150k for him. Wouldn't be the most expensive option in the world if that's all they were looking to recoup for him. It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see another striker join this month though, seen as we've just forked out for Nichols and Telford (who is highly rated at Stoke) hasn't even had a run out yet, which has surprised me.

One goal in 13 games is only marginally better than Luke James!!!
