A few fans in the bar suggested the checkatrade games, fans meet up in the bristol room and get their pre match pasty, programme, 50/50 etc but stay in the bar for the whole game.
A Rovers highlights DVD could be put on the Big Screen, so Rovers don't lose out from bar takings etc but those that don't want to go to watch these games can still support the club.
I thought it was a good ideal.
Another suggestion was to collectively sponsor the game with the tannoy announcement saying the matchball sponsors are "no reserves sides in the league" or similar, as this would make a statement.

Anything but watching the game is a good idea.

I like the idea. Now I can go to the game, but not go to the game if you know what I mean!
As much as I disagree with the trophy and what it could lead to, I love Rovers and don't want to not be there to support them.
At least by having a drink and a bite to eat in the bar, I will be helping the club, but will be one less click on the turnstile. Would be strange if I won the 50/50 though!

Could work for fans who live relatively close, but for those who travel to The Mem from a distance it wouldn't make sense.

The boycott last year was not listened to, and the club made a loss on the gate apparently for the first time in a competitive fixture since the return to the Bristol (although it was Steve Hamer saying this)
We're not hurting the cup or the EFL, we're hurting our club, by not attending and supporting the team.

If the majority of FL clubs don't financially profit from the competition, how much longer will they vote for it?
