I wouldn't rule anything out. Personally I cannot see the AQ's being in this for the long haul despite what Wael is saying at the moment. Would he saying be saying anything different?
Perhaps a few months ago we had what was perceived to be a "top 6 budget" - what would a top 6 budget be in most people's eyes - maybe £2/3 million - we've spent nothing like that and not likely to. I wonder why? There's has been no known movement wrt The Colony - and certainly no significant spend commitment - I wonder why? DC was given a new five year contract - maybe he's earned it, or he knew UWE was off and he would of been off to pastures new or just may be the BoD are protecting his interests in the event of a sell out. I'm sure DC's aspirations/vision have been seriously dented. Clearly the club at the moment appear reluctant to spend/commit any 'big' money until this whole sorry saga is sorted out.
A lot of assumptions have been made wrt UWE but nobody on here actually know the reasons why the club pulled out (couldn't agree terms is all we know - simple easy statement but plainly obvious) just may be the AQ's are no longer committed who knows - clearly UWE were surprised by the decision but to effectively pull the plug because allegedly UWE had not responded to a deadline after 18 months of negotiations seems a bit feeble.
Personally I will keep an open mind but as I said earlier I cannot believe for one minute the AQ's are here for the long haul.

Believe it or not, the main talking point in the corridors of power on Saturday was that there are two potential suitors for our football club that have been made known to our owners. I know a little of one of them, but absolutely nothing of the other. But the one I know a little of are serious players, and they would be looking to continue with the UWE development, as they don't believe the Mem is viable. The most salient point in the conversation was the figure quoted to buy our football club was mentioned. So there is no doubt that whilst the offer was made correctly and privately to our owners, it has been relayed to others who are aware of much detail. From my point of view, I hope that if our owners are not to pursue the UWE deal, then subject to no ridiculous stipulations from the UWE, this is treated seriously. This football club is to precious to too many of us to resign itself to forever being a lower league club, which I feel is what will happen unless we build a purpose built stadium. And before certain individuals come out of the woodwork and say here he goes again, I would remind you that whilst I also broke news of a consortium last time, and got slagged off for being wrong, I wasn't wrong, it's just that the Al Qadis offer was completed before the people I was aware of were ready to go. This is not the case this time. Interesting times, and I just hope we get what we need before I go to the Tote End in the sky. I know something you dont know but im not going to tell you zzzzz

I believe wael when he says he's in for the long haul but without the backing of all the other family members it's as we were and always have been Jeff

Just like gasinciders two prospective buyers, not saying anything to us the public but quite prepared to tell everybody in the boxes on Saturday, gasincider included.

I thought they were only interested in buying 51% from the AQ family and they plan to invest half the money towards UWE proceeding on its current terms and working with wael rather than a full takeover?
🎣 You could make any sh** up at present and we'd all read it with interest!

Ah, the very same person who was involved with the previous plans for the Mem and pulled out of the deal because it was not in the interest of the club to proceed without the backing of the student flats providers. He could not find a few million then and now can conjure up well in excess of £70 million to buy the club and build the UWE. More chance of Lansdown being the mystery buyer!
