LOL perhaps that explains why the club's agreed to the draw taking place in China, an all expenses paid trip for the Chairman (& President?)!!! I can't understand why it doesn't take place at 11 am, which would be 6 pm China time.
re your second sentence - EXACTLY what I was going to write. I can understand that football is ludicrously commercialised and that sponsors are now mainly coming from the Far east where they are very very business minded and want a high profile, but a draw at 11.15am China time seems to just about sum up how bizarre this sponsorship is. Are they daft? It alienates everyone as it doesn't give us (the 'E' stands for England I think?!) a chance to watch it live and is 11.15am really a great local time to get press coverage?
re marco - been listening to both interviews, before and after the game. Before the game he has no idea when the draw is being made, and when he's told they express surprise / joke about it and that he won't be staying up for it. Cue post match interview and he's already seemingly booked on a flight to China, arriving 1 hr before the draw. it has disaster written all over it Loads of planes arrive late, customs, visa, intimate body searches... Then massive jet lag and days out of his schedule to sit in a chair for 5 minutes and watch us get drawn away to Doncaster Rovers...
Just about sums football up at the moment as well. why not give £2,000 to a local football team instead of flying our Asst Mgr out for a 2 minute draw? Obviously they won't do that as they don't actually care about grass roots football or even smaller FL clubs.
Just listened again. Definitely some sniggering in the background after his initial quote re going to the draw

I'm pretty sure it was the league cup also we took nearer 3000 100% the FA cup, but it was on a Tuesday night due to us having a replay against York in the 1st round.

Don't want to draw the 82'ers - the atmosphere has become too toxic and OTT for it to be enjoyable. It has always been like that. Today is no different. Been going since 1970's and whilst I love the derby atmosphere, it felt like people were beginning to cross the line at the last game. Or, maybe I'm just getting old! 😳

Sorry, can I come back in please ? In a bizarre coincidence the KLF reformed today after 23 years, the power of gaschat knows no bounds.

My opinion on the timing of the draw to please Chinese sponsors...I may be naive in business, but I would honestly tell them if they asked for the EFL 3rd Round Draw to take place in the early hours BST, first to get a life, and secondly to p1ss off, they'll pay for sponsorship regardless! It's an English competition, foreign investors welcome, but do not hold us to ransom.
Of course, unfortunately Shaun Harvey and the EFL would step over the own mother for a bit of extra dosh.

Doncaster at home is the best draw we can get. Let's have some ambition, we had some great runs in this cup in the 70's when we were third tier just like now.

We're the lowest ranked team left so we should fear no-one: nothing to lose against ANYONE! Just four hours to go now - should I stay up...? Nah, don't want to give that pr*ck Harvey the satisfaction (if he's reading this?)

Glad to see no one else bothered getting up for this, or otherwise you've all fallen asleep by now.
The lack of transparency with no video stream is awful, just putting out a tweet every 2/3 minutes - joke - we'll have to get the EFL to sort this out, oh, sorry, EFL...

1 hour for a 3rd round cup draw to be completed, all because the sponsors from Taiwan trying to break into the Chinese market absolutely pathetic, Football League must be so proud, let's hope NASA don't sponsor it next season or they might suggest the draw be made live from the moon
